Hey everyone, I’m wanting to transition to tech from healthcare. I have 5 years experience, working front office (clinic scheduling, admin etc), currently back office (referrals, prior authorizations) , I have basic medical billing/coding knowledge & also provider credentialing experience. Any recommendations for tech roles that could be a fit with my background? I do NOT want to be in customer service or call center type role if at all possible though.

    Pros

great benefits and hours, with pto

    Cons

if you get sick they take from your vacation time first. Punishment for being sick if you ask me or rather just a way to get out of letting you have a vacation. If you catch Covid you will be made to sit at home for 2 weeks without pay unless you have vacation time and the little sick pto they give you to make up for it. Very bias on who gets to move up and bottom line is they make it well known that you are replaceable.

Not What I Expected from a Faith-Based Institution

    Pros

Great benefits, great co-workers, impressive CEO.

    Cons

At least in my area, management is suboptimal with poor communication standards and no substantial organization - no one knows what anyone else is doing. Each member of the management team has their own agenda which frequently makes staff feel caught in the middle. Some management team members use extremely offensive [frequently openly uses*f* word] language on a constant basis with no regard as to how it affects others, also creates somewhat of a hostile environment by constantly making derogatory comments about other people or institutions with whom we work.

    Good Company

    Pros

The wing of the hospital that I worked in had great management and my training was great, only 1 week. Great benefits as well.

    Cons

People working the same job as me called off constantly. The company needs a better way to keep accountable employees around and weed out the others. This position also should be paid more, due to how hard the job is; very physically demanding, non-stop for 12 hours.
