    Pros

    - Truly promotes mobility with a lot of opportunities to change roles if you are a top performer

I worked at Barclays full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Dynamic Working - Get to work from home depends on your role and manager flexibility

    Cons

Lots of changes from Top Down from management, Lots of lay-offs due to CEO vision to focus on core business. Little to no raises or bonus. Expect to wear multiple hats with the same pay with no replacements.

    Advice to Management

Provide Career Mobility Opportunities. Pay your employees a competitive market rate including market bonus pool. Boost morale and start to hire people externally. Enough with the hiring freezes so your employees can focus on producing quality work instead of having to deal with handling multiple roles.

I worked at Barclays full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great respect for women, excellent salary on investment bank, great perks at work, especially the gym (Manhattan)

    Cons

Directors and Managing Directors assume God complexes, have difficulty with the idea that those that report to them may have silos of information greater. Yet, MDs take credit for the work that they don't do...There was plenty of backstabbing going around.

    Advice to Management

Do 360 degree feedback on things that really matter. Document that information. Grade people on whether they get the job done, versus impromptu milestones.

    Cons

I have been working at Barclays full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay you fairly well and give you good benefits. My health insurance is awesome and the employer matching for 401k is very generous.

    Cons

No work life balance. Management doesn't care if you are there till 2:00, and will only have complaints for you when things go wrong.

    Advice to Management

Create an environment where employees are focused on performing their jobs well rather than positioning themselves for a promotion. Talent is lost when people are burn out and limits diversity in management.
