Barclays is a stable and reliable company. Its reputation is well-established, and it is considered very reliable. You do not have to wonder whether the paycheck is going to come or not.

I have been working at Barclays full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Barclays introduced dynamic working which allow us to work from home at least once a week. Not all groups are eligible. But if you're one of the lucky ones, it's the best scenario. Work life balance is good but depends on the group and manager.

    Cons

Lack of career development and promotion. Raises are Little (insulting) or none. Bonus is not competitive. Bouts of laid offs are still occurring albeit less frequent. Shutting down businesses that are non-core.

    Advice to Management

Maximize the talent of your employees instead of under utilizing their skills performing mundane tasks. Some managers do not empower their employees to optimize their performance.
