I have been working at Barclays full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a well known brand name that people across the word recognize if only because they used to sponsor the premier league. Daily responsibilities are always changing

    Cons

IT and basic infrastructure at Barclays is terrible. Basic on site training is nil. It sometimes feels like a people-mill.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on your employees wellbeing throughout the bank. There are lots of opportunities to reduce the daily chaos caused by disorganization and keep things simpler.

I worked at Barclays (Less than a year)

    Pros

Stress free work culture. Slow paced and relaxed environment. The company's services for employees are excellent. Being an intern, I got all my living expenses covered during the internship.

    Cons

The work culture is lacking a bit of dynamism and pace. The projects are slow paced and wouldn't suit someone who is used to a fast culture.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good job. Also try to focuss on improving the rate at which projects get completed.

I have been working at Barclays (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good health insurance and overall benefits

    Cons

    Clueless CIO
    Erratic technical leadership
    Bad hiring practices
    Failure to keep smart developers
Apparently only Indians want to work here anymore

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately, the problems start at the top. The CIO is clueless. Many in the senior technical leadership have zero experience either writing or designing modern software.

    Advice to Management
