I have been working at Bardel Entertainment as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A variety of shows to work on, and many incredible artists to befriend!

    Cons

Disconnect from management to the workers, outrageous amount of unpaid overtime to meet unrealistic deadlines, and everyone is crammed together. Keep higher ups protected from harassment claims by "low level" individuals.

    Advice to Management

Stop underbidding on shows and be sure to have the work force needed/space to actually do the show. Also to no longer pay with quota.

I have been working at Bardel Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of shows to work on. Most of the time, they will seek to keep you and find you another show if the one you were working on has ended. Decent pay.

    Cons

Pipeline and quotas are insane for the level of quality and output expected. Harassment cases go ignored or a blind eye is turned to it.

    Advice to Management

Work on your pipelines and quota expectancy or you’ll soon find yourself becoming the next Nerd Corps. And alienating yourself from experienced and talented artists. You pride yourself in the quality of your shows- try to keep it that way. Do not claim to take harassment seriously when you don’t actually reprimand those people for their poor actions after multiple warnings...

I have been working at Bardel Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have the coolest shows to work on hands down. People are all really nice. The equipment is excellent, and facilities are good. Training is decent in the 2D department. Plenty of work.

    Cons

Contracts are constantly being messed with, as if they don't mean anything, which adds a lot of stress to an already highly stressful job. Pay is ridiculously low. Like minimum wage low which means quality of life is poor. Quota requires you to work at 100% capacity 100% of the time or you fall behind. So no room for a very humanly 'off' day or any hopes of working hard enough to give yourself a half day as a reward. Management doesn't seem to really know what's going on half the time or have any real hands on involvement in productions other than occasional smooth talking.

    Advice to Management

Either raise the base salary or lower the base quota. Or better yet, just give folks the median rate as a flat salary like they deserve and create a quota based on average performance of non-senior animators.

Remember that contracts go both ways. Show some respect to your animators. And not just with pretty words. Show them you respect them the way a decent company would - with money.

Stop trying to expand so fast or your balloon will burst.

    Pros

Fast but manageable pace, fun crew, good coworkers, good shows to work on

    Cons

Pay isn't that great - probably due to the double-whammy of working in BC and working in TV.

Lots of interesting shows to work on currently because they scored some amazing contracts

    Cons

it kind of feels like a sweatshop, really crammed, dealing with picky clients is a huge pain.
