I worked at Bare Escentuals part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay for an entry level position, given gratis often (usually once a month), 50% discount

    Cons

Only scheduled 10-15 hours a week, company seems to be going through a big shift at the moment

    Advice to Management

Local management was great, however, senior management seemed very disorganized at times. A lot of conflicting information. Could benefit from better communication.

I worked at Bare Escentuals full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gratis, discount (50% off), and easy to sell product. If you get lucky and get a great team than it's even better! Good training for people new to beauty. And most of all a great product!

    Cons

A lot of tiny details like punching in had to be down to the minute, cleaning up all the powdered makeup can be annoying. If you have a bad manager who can't manage then you will hate the place you work. Little communication from upper management yet they expect to see results. Mall hours can be very exhausting.

    Advice to Management

Communication is very important, make your people feel important and don't only look at sales figures. Be transparent!

I worked at Bare Escentuals part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are no longer good reasons to work for this company.

    Cons

Bare minerals boutiques are no longer a fun environment to be a part of. Traffic in the boutiques is rapidly declining due to online shopping. Corporate is coming down way to hard on every staff member for things that are sometimes out of our control which is resulting in loss of staff and employees are starting to care less. Work life balance is terrible. District managers are overwhelmingly involved in every aspect of the store.

    Advice to Management

Pull your product out of the other stores!! If you want the boutiques to succeed, you need to bring the clients to us instead of macys or sephora. People aren't coming to us becasue they feel they get better deals in other stores. We can be as friendly and welcoming as we want but we live in an economy where one dollar makes a huge difference.

I have been working at Bare Escentuals full-time

    Pros

Nice group of people. Wonderful products.

    Cons

The work is non-stop. It is normal to sit at your desk for 10 hours straight with no time for lunch and still feel overwhelmed. Assignments that should be split between two or three people are given to one person.

I worked at Bare Escentuals (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is pretty customer service forward, which I really liked. It provided me with the training and experience for my now career. The discount is awesome and is even extended to your family (at least it was 3 years ago when I worked there) . pay was enough for me at the time.

    Cons

They do track your sales, so depending on the management you get they may be obsessed with them, you don't work off commission, which some might see as a con. the hours stink - but its retail!
