    Pros

Excellent benefits. Fun working environment. Overall a great place to work. It's retail but it's not your normal retail. You definitely work hard for you money.

    Cons

The pay is not great or fair for that matter but that's probably a case by case situation. You may not have crazy holidays like "black friday" but you have to deal with 'Rush' and exams.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people appropriately. If you can't, tell them up front that it may be a long road but worth it in the end.

I have been working at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great first job to learn customer service skills both in store and over the phone, 20% discount on textbooks, flexible (but plenty) hours.

    Cons

The small space in our store made organizing books a bit difficult, and the store can't really handle more than fifteen-twenty people in our shelf aisles.

    Pros

Excellent store. My store manager is very helpful to other staff members. The job is interesting. It changes depending on the season. The bestseller program is a great way to move up.

    Cons

No discounts at BN Trade stores.Home office orders crappy stuff, doesn't allow store to order what they know will sell. Minimum wage for a lot of work.

    Advice to Management

Give trade store discounts, provide more relevant products to the student base.
