I have been working at Barrick Gold for more than a year

    Pros

If this was written about two years ago, I would recommend based on: * amazing and friendly culture * lots of opportunities for an intern to get their feet wet in IT * encouraged to challenge yourself * good compensation for location

    Cons

There have been too many company shifts throughout the past year causing instability and reducing overall workforce morale. Company culture is in shambles - at least in the Henderson location.

    Advice to Management

    Work on rebuilding the culture.

I worked at Barrick Gold for less than a year

    Pros

Competitive pay, and great safety practices.

    Cons

The 1.5 hour bus commute each way to and from the mine site was a bit difficult at times.

I worked at Barrick Gold for less than a year

    Pros

Allowed to work with multiple departments and get a well rounded experience. Help was always offered and given by multiple professionals.

    Cons

Elko is a very hot and dry place. If you're not into hot weather i would not recommend going there.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at Barrick Gold

    Pros

They have two good mines in NV, they pay well and there are some good people working there.

    Cons

Company has gone downhill lately, not just the layoffs but the company culture has suffered, almost like the company exists to protect the jobs of the executives and managers up top by sacrificing as many little guys as is necessary. Company is still run by people who make terrible financial decisions. This on

    Advice to Management

Stop running the company like it's a government welfare office, run it like a lean mean business.
