I worked at Barry University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was a Summer Camp Counselor for the BUCkids Summer Camp Recreational Program at Barry University. I had a blast with the kids & my colleagues. My favorite part was being able to go on all of the field trips for free.

    Cons

Sometimes you may feel you're doing more work than others when counselors want to hang out in the office all day, but at the end the day, it's a really laid back job to have if you're in-between jobs or you need something to do for the summer.

    Advice to Management

Keep counselors busy to whatever they're assigned to do.

I worked at Barry University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I gained great experience working with staff, residents and doctors

    Cons

Barry upper management needs to involve the rest of the employees in decisions that will affect their daily work

    Advice to Management

When you an employee what they would like to have as part of a program, please at the very least input something from their request.

I have been working at Barry University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most of the faculty and staff are great people. They really care about the school and it's students.

    Cons

The upper administration/management needs replaced. I feel like the university has become a sinking ship since the newest President was hired. The morale has slowly declined to non-existent and there are rumors that Barry and Saint Thomas will be merging.

    Advice to Management

Retire. You moved away from the family friendly environment and alienated your faculty, staff and students. It's time to retire for fresh positive ideas.

Use the talented people already at the school to develop strategies to improve the school rather than hire expensive consultants with no results.
