I worked at Barry University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The team I work with was excellent, we all cared and take our responsibility serious. We joke and talk, and develop good relationship over time.

    Cons

If you are in school, it is a bad position to be in as it robes one's of precious sleep, and can take a toll on your grade

    Advice to Management

Please provide proper equipment and increase the pay for the officers who take great responsibility of their work.

I worked at Barry University (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great support staff and management team. Graduate assistant compensation package overall is strong.

    Cons

Compensation is not competitive but other benefits such as meals, books, make up for the low salary. Hours vary per position yet compensation seems to be the same across the board for all grad assistants.

    Advice to Management

Develop a new way of compensating each Graduate Assistant based in his or her time. Some positions require travel. Wether you work 40+ or 20 hours all positions are paid the same.

Very unprofessional environment, lots of drama, bosses are the most unprofessional individuals you will ever come across. I've seen management plot against employees to get rid of them for no reason.

    Advice to Management

Lots of changes need to happen, Barry will never prosper this way
