I have been working at Barts Health NHS Trust full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good clinicians ie good clinical skills.
    Some great colleagues and trainees.
    Good clinical mix.
Fantastic nurses at the front end.

    Cons

Management who don't listen to those doing the work.
A culture of bullying from managers to consultants and between consultants.
Unacceptable behaviour and work ethic from senior doctors at times which is not tackled.
    Disorganised.
Lack of recognition for hard work.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to front line staff.
    Reward hard work.
    Tackle bullying and poor behaviour.
Promote based on skill, commitment and competence not just jobs for your mates!
Deal with underperformance rather than tolerating it.

I have been working at Barts Health NHS Trust full-time

    Pros

I work in a great team and see the results of pioneering research

    Cons

No money so bills don't get paid and basic orders not delivered

    Advice to Management

Talk to staff actually on the wards! Lots of us can't get away to get to LiA events so our voices are never heard .

I have been working at Barts Health NHS Trust full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some amazing staff, who are great at their jobs and make work a pleasure.
Certain specialisms with excellent reputations and cutting edge treatments.

    Cons

Short of staff everywhere from clinics to wards to specialist nurses to background staff such as IT.
Rotas for ward staff confirmed on very short notice and subject to late changes - unable to plan any life outside work until very last minute.

Trust has taken over entirety of East London meaning almost impossible to leave job without moving house or facing long commute.

    Advice to Management

Speak to staff!! I have worked on wards for nearly ten years and never met any executive managers at all. Even the current matron in my area shows no interest and doesn't even know our names.

Slightly challenging and can be chaotic at times

    Focus on moral of staff
