I worked at Bath & Body Works full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast Paced, Ever Changing, Exciting Product, Customers Enjoy Shopping w/ this Company (It is their “fun” / “me” time) so makes sales more enjoyable, Company making positive strides to offer competitive pay, 401K, Benefits

    Cons

Work-Life Balance (Non-existent), Payroll Fluctuations, ZERO payroll for training (And when SM goes over payroll in attempt to on-board properly, will get reprimanded), “Sink or Swim” attitude in regards to training, High turnover during holiday, Little Support during mass hiring season, SM Required to balance “Selling & Operations” with little payroll to do so, Typical Retail Management demands. You know going into this role that it WILL be demanding, so these are just situations that you must learn to adapt to.

    Advice to Management

DM’s - VISIT ALL your stores! Not just high-performing stores, you lose out on GREAT TALENT by not visiting lower volumes! Low Volume stores must fight for every penny- so these associates KNOW how to sell! Regional- PLEASE cut down on the operational tasks / requirements and deadlines if you want our primary focus to be driving sales. *Allow the SM to hire / bring on-board a member of management (or a current part-time Manager) to help during peak hiring times to help with interviewing! It’s non realistic to expect the SM to hire massive rosters, plus prepare stores for Thanksgiving / Holiday while stuck in the office! Allow workload to be shared if applicable!

    Pros

Busy Location. They had lots of things to do to keep you busy. Always moving.

    Cons

Must work, less to none talking with co-workers, even when the store was closed. Didn't work as per schedule, needed to be reminded of things like now it's lunch, time to leave. Always had to ask and wait before using the bathroom.

    Advice to Management

Create a more unified environment between co-workers and letting them speak to each other while getting their work done, especially when the store is closed for business.
