I have been working at Bath & Body Works full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment during each quarter giving the store new themes and music play lists for us to dance and get through the day while taking care of customers. Opportunity to grow with the company. Created new Top Seller positions for people who are natural salesman/saleswomen. Emphasis on team building and coaching to make you the best you can be on the sales floor or behind the counter. Comfortable dress code for the type of work we do. Gratis product when new products come out.

    Cons

Long hours on your feet. Inconsistent schedule times, but that’s retail life. Unrealistic conversion goals. Floorset hour budgets are unrealistic, usually never enough given to get the job done properly. High stress during holidays the higher volume the store. Unrealistic sales goals for management team that has other responsibilities that are in the back office. A lot of marketing changes every day or every few days.

    Advice to Management

Sneakers should be a must! Working on your feet for 8 to 10+ hours a day with mostly standing on a hardwood floor is painful for our feet, plus climbing up and down ladders. I’ve developed foot pain in my right foot just from this job. Key Holders working 32+ hours a week should be eligible for the full benefits package. Upper management needs to update traffic trackers that give stores with double entrances accurate numbers of footsteps. Bonuses should be given to all employees to drive motivation to hit sales goals. Other employees don’t care about hitting numbers if they are profiting also. Store manager and assistant should not have high sales goals to balance business analysis emails and other managerial duties. We can’t be everywhere at once!

I worked at Bath & Body Works part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get a lot of free products because they want you to know about the product before you sell it. They also want you to give your honest opinion to customers which is nice.

    Cons

Not a great work/life balance. When I worked there, we had call-in shifts. You had to call an hour before your call-in shift was to start and see if they needed you or not. It made it hard to plan things.

I have been working at Bath & Body Works part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Fast paced environment.
Learn new fragrances before anyone else.
    Fairly simple job.

    Cons

    Schedule never stable.
    Hours never stable.
    No REAL benefits.
It's retail, so be prepared to forfeit your night, weekends and holidays.
Also be prepared for "call-in" shifts for example if you are scheduled 10-2 with a call-in until 7, you may or may NOT have to work until 7.

    Advice to Management

Show more concern and care of your sales associates.

    Pros

Friendly Atmosphere, Awesome Products, Amazing Coworkers

    Cons

Terrible Management, Poor Communication, Sometimes stressful work environment

    Advice to Management

They need to communicate to associates better and not just yell at them when somethings wrong. Be more present on the floor instead of doing paperwork things in the back.
