    lots of experience and hands on learning

    sometimes difficult to make schedules work with full time students

    work more with student nurses, we want to work but they need to meet us halfway

    Good place to work , I work there 31 years. Had nice department heads ,nice coworkers, over time if you want.

    Cons

    Not enough time for lunch break.

    Need to have gone to school for management .

    There is always work hours available. The work environment is welcoming.

    Management work ethics with employees could be improved. Their communication with employees could improve.

    You guys could treat your employees better,work on communication and work ethics. Change up the department's look.

    I have been working at Baton Rouge General part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Most of the staff at the midcity campus are what makes working at brgmc an enjoyable experience. There is usually always a need for employee's. You can have fun outside of work with co-workers and come back to work and be professional.

    Cons

    The hospital suffers financially and the ER was on the verge of closing. The pay isn't all that great.

    Advice to Management

    Be more involved with employee's. Pay your techs more.

    Pros

    Great people to work with from all walks of life. Has many employee assistance programs. Management is always striving to improve things.

    Cons

    Unfortuantely I cannot speak on the cons. I only left because my husband was transferred to a different state. If we ever come back, this is where I will be.
