    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great benifits, including health dental vision and legal insurance

    Cons

The pay for current employees is very low compaired to what other medical places offer. Starting pay was raised without raising the pay of current employees that has created a lot of tension. People who been there for years who now find themselves making less than people who just got hired this year.

    Advice to Management

find ways to increase overall pay to exisiting employees, not just increase pay to new hires

I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great collaboration from your peers. Fun office experience. Work closely with a lot of smart, hard working and overall great people.

    Cons

The Valient purchase split the company regionally and made US/OUS operations difficult. I still have many friends working there and the environment has changed for the worse.

    Advice to Management

Revert back to the global model

I have been working at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They really pay employees who have been there a while pretty reasonably. The company is changing and they are hiring a ton of temps. We actually have a temp agency working out of plant. WOW!!

    Cons

Do not make any mistakes. They will be documented and you will be held accountable.

I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, stability, facilities, opportunities for advancement internally. There are several different types of career paths. If you want stable and steady, you can find it.

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunities for advancement if located outside of major US city.

    Advice to Management

Outsource things you are not good at to smaller US firms; not Indian firms.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Bausch & Lomb part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

When this company was Bausch & Lomb, the co-workers were fantastic, opportunities were plentiful, and things were advancing.

    Cons

Little to no raises, virtually no promotions. Cut too many good programs like education assistance, no travel, and vacation time. Cut R&D to death - more concerned with buying products that developing them from within. Greedy upper management.

    Advice to Management

Actually I can't post what I really want to say here.

I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Surgical division product line is high quality and good value for world wide distribution

    Cons

Completely overshadowed by drug focus. Instrument R&D not being maintained even at subsistence levels. Tragic loss of talent and product knowlege

    Advice to Management

Focus on B&L instruments and devices needs to be better balanced against the drug portfolio. This cash cow is being quickly drained and physician loyalty to the brand is eroding.

I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I got a paycheck, paid vacation and some holidays. I can not say much good about the company after Valeant took over. Please see below for more details.

    Cons

When Valeant took over I went from having 5 weeks of vacation to 4. I also lost the ability to purchase an additional week of vacation. They also took away one holiday from us. People are leaving in droves due to the work environment. The ones that remain are forced to work much harder than when the company was run by previous management. Valeant does not want to hire nor can they retain people.

    Advice to Management

Start treating people like the professionals they are.
