I have been working at Bausch & Lomb (More than 3 years)
Recognizable name and product line.
Very little career growth opportunities.
I have been working at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than a year)
Perks of the job are great. Insurance. Brand new car. All expenses for car are paid (gas insurance maintenance). Generally have control of your day to day schedule.
Big brother is always watching. Constantly running all types of reports to see if reps are actually doing their jobs. Feels like they are just looking for reasons to fire people.
I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than 5 years)
B+L used to be a good company to work for until it was bought by Valeant. B+L offered a good salary, excellent 401K and plenty of opportunities to grow.
Since Valeant bought B+L it is no longer a good company to work for.
I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time (More than a year)
Good work place environment. Teamwork. Good talent. Manger was very good. Good compensation package. Flexible schedule for work family balance.
Private company. Acquired by Valeant. Salary was at the lower end of the industry standard. Not much room for growth.
Advice to Management
I worked at Bausch & Lomb (More than 3 years)
Operated towards excellence (before being acquired).
Acquired by Valeant, which has a totally different perspective and culture.
Good work environment. Management easy to work with. Knowledgeable chemists willing to help. Good training and job for entry level chemist gaining experience.
Only cons are 24 hour manufacturing and 1 shift jobs hard to come by. Most jobs are temporary with the contract.
I worked at Bausch & Lomb full-time
good eye care benefits
not too much R&D
