I have been working at Baxter full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture and great place to work. Generous pay and benefits. New ceo has some good ideas, but there is definitely bias towards young career professionals.

    Cons

More and more outsourcing, less opportunity to advance. Development focus is on kids right out of college. Suspect this company wont be around much longer.

    Advice to Management

Human capital is a valuable resource. Don't throw it away so easily

I worked at Baxter full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits (health, dental, bonus) are solid
Certain pockets of the organization due allow work from home options
Global experience with employees all across the globe

    Cons

Cut throat, toxic corporate culture where nobody can be trusted
CEO making the company into true pharma and not the nice company Baxter once was.
Senior leaders who are more concerned about themselves and making their own money and more money for investors. Nobody actually cares about the patients. The mission of Saving and Sustaining lives is a total joke.

    Advice to Management

Stop the cost cutting and creating such a negative corporate culture. The way you "message" being a best place to work and caring about employees is simply not true. The corporate transformation efforts are creating an absolutely toxic, miserable culture.

The "My Manager Cares" program is an absolute joke. Everyone is under so much pressure to perform they will cut anyone else down to get ahead. My own boss threw our entire team under the bus to look good.

    Pros

Good salary, down to earth, open doors, non bureaucratic, commitment to patients, quality oriented, knowledgable about the business, well defined vision and mission.

    Pros

Very flexible with work schedule. I have worked two different contracts with Baxter and both groups were very easy to work with as a contractor.

I worked at Baxter full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None that I can think of except the health benefits are better than other companies I have worked for in the last.

    Cons

Direction changes frequently. Something is going on here - either a sale or a acquisition. People are rude and it's not a healthy environment and very toxic. No work life balance. Lots of silos among the different functions and no direction.

    Advice to Management

Align objectives to direction of where you want company to go. You say you want change but no one changes. Think senior leadership @ director level needs to be shaken up if you want change.
