    Pros

Benefits, Business decisions were done globally, ensuring respect of all business units

    Cons

Management was too micro-management style, didn't trust employees, made it difficult to add value and own ideas

    Advice to Management

Create more open communication at all levels, recognize individuals for their contributions, do not micro-manage, trust employees you've hired, to do their job.

I worked at Baxter full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company, good benefits including discounted stock purchase plan, competitive pay. International presence, 80 plus year history.

    Cons

Recent shortages of just about every product that is manufactured by Baxter, combined with steep price increases and diminished customer service.

    Advice to Management

Look to the past for the proud history and return to proper manufacturing (both quantity and quality) and customer service.

I worked at Baxter (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Loved my boss at the VP level - very inspiring to work for & kept challenging me to be better.

    Cons

The most senior level folks are all men & not good at making a decision. It's completely about who you know & doing what's told of you, not challenging the status quo or thinking differently. Complete lack of inclusion & diversity.

    Pros

The work was interesting and fulfilling. I enjoyed the global teamwork and exposure.

    Cons

Bad management. Too much cronyism. Management would bring in their friends and promote them. Even when the employees were clearly incompetent. HR Dept was worthless.

    Advice to Management

Shake it up! Look for the employees who perform and promote them.

    Pros

Large stable company. Setting itself up to get bought-out....

    Cons

Wants its plants only in one-company towns (Mountain Home, Arkansas; Cleveland, Mississippi; etc.) so you're locked in. Tiny raises. Medical not that great. 401K OK. New CEO Joe Almeida outsources all jobs to low cost companies for financial engineering and then trys to invert the company to domicile at a low tax rate country. Not what the US middle class needs. JA also minimizes investment in R&D.

    Advice to Management

Give up the financial engineering and try to innovate new products to be made in USA!

    Pros

Solid company, that saves and sustains lives with its portfolio. Lots of great people and leaders (depending on your team). Great 2020 vision trying to promote a healthier workplace.

    Cons

Team is incredibly toxic. People constantly putting one another down, very critical and hostile environment. Lots of gossip and hatefulness. Various people talk about how dreadful going to work these days.

    Advice to Management

Weed out the hostile and critical people who can't figure out a way to get along with others. Do it and innovation, free sharing of ideas, and increased productivity will flow.
