I worked at Baxter full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Secure job n that you receive a steady paycheck.

    Cons

Our company was purchased by Baxter. HR was easy to talk to. Enter Baxter into the picture. Now all changes need to be done online. Or, they give you a phone number to call and the people who answer speak English as a third language. Being a former employee I don't have my passwords, etc. All I want to do is change my address to get my tax forms. Sounds simple enough. No. Still not done. I've made 20 calls and no one will send me my tax forms. So glad I don't have to deal with their useless HR departments any more.

    Advice to Management

Get humans who speak English when you call. And, you've made our local HR department useless with all of this online crap, passwords you cannot possibly memorize, that you have to change every 120 days when you finally memorize the old ones. I have more to say but let's just start here.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Baxter (More than a year)

    Pros

Large MNC with offices in most APAC countries.
New CEO on-board to shake up business.

    Cons

Slow moving, risk averse business strategy.
Business direction is top down from the USA (with few global leaders having ever worked in Asia).
    Lack-lustre product pipeline.

    Advice to Management

Need a global review of the business strategy followed by a business-wide turnaround to breath a more competitive spirit into the firm.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Baxter (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Health plan
    Gym
Get on board because the firm will likely go through M&A activity very soon

    Cons

Used to value science and be a genuine quality driven culture; perhaps less so now.
The work environment is one in which, if you are genuinely science and quality based, will not completely satisfy you.
The firm regularly hires and fires depending upon programs, it has of late removed layers and infra structure, competency which are likely necessary to successfully operate within.
Operating processes are inefficient, senior leadership are more inexperienced and struggling with legacy issues.

    Advice to Management

Review depth and breadth of competency to assess how sustainable the current operating model is within a science and quality based sector. Seek to merge or get acquired by a big player.
