I worked at Bay Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, people, location, non-profit, amazing administration, collaboration is very present and inviting. They also have extremely high standards.

    Cons

not a lot of advancement opportunity from the call center.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. I haven't worked there since 2011 and still when I talk to past/present employees they are still just as over the moon about the company as I was, 6 years ago. Carrier Birkhofer is the best CEO I've ever met, we will always be great friends.

I worked at Bay Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co-workers are great. Things were alright until Human Resources had a staffing change. Halloween is fun but they get quite unprofessional and waste clients time and money.

    Cons

Almost everything. Horrible leadership. Lack of direction. It's one big popularity contest. They treat you like "family" but that's how they try to get around paying you overtime. Under paid staff because all the money goes into its the senior leadership teams bank accounts. They say non for profit but I've seen otherwise. Don't work here!

    Advice to Management

Stop this popularity contest and pay your staff fair wages!

    Pros

Fun atmosphere to work in. The company tries to make the employees feel like family. Working locally is great. The company truly lives its community charter and the employees work in the community on a regular basis.

    Cons

It would be nice if the health insurance had better co-pays. Sometimes it is the same amount to pay cash at a doctor’s office as your copay. But we don’t pay that much for coverage. Also alternate work schedules, such as working from home, would be nice considering how many of the back office staff commute.
