I have been working at Bay Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay, team, benefits, new compiters comming, many departments to try different areas.

    Cons

Transferring is difficult making it difficult to grow, managers lie to get you to do what they want. Not enough computers now.

    Advice to Management

Newly written policies should not go into effect until they have been written. Saying a policy is being changed is not the same as it is changed on paper.

I worked at Bay Medical Center full-time

    Pros

If you did not work in the ER as an admission representative, then it was not bad work hours.

    Cons

The company did not care about its employees, only its profit margin. The more we collected, the more the company wanted. Nothing was ever good enough, and it is no way to work. They have such a high turnover, because employees don't want to work in that type of environment.

    Advice to Management

Care more for employees and less about profit. It is understandable to need the money, but not at the expense of the employees who are trying to provide a good experience for patients who are already scared.

I worked at Bay Medical Center full-time

    Pros

I have been gone for about 3 years and I have heard that there has been some turnover so I cannot speak to how it is now but when I worked there I was surrounded by great people.

    Cons

it is a very fast-paced stressful environment. If you are looking for a quiet not too stressful job, this is not the place.

I have been working at Bay Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is all the work available that you can handle. Hospital setting will give you opportunities to build your skills in any area which you chose. You generally work 3 shifts 12-13 hours long. The managers will work with you to try to accommodate needs for school/family. If the floor you work on isn't your thing you can apply for other positions within the hospital.

    Cons

Pay is pretty low for RNs. Once you are skilled there are many other outside agencies that offer much better pay. A lot of the equipment is outdated, in low supply or just not available. It can make a fast paced already stressful job very frustrating when time is wasted searching for equipment and supplies. High turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Please update the outdated and missing/broken equipment. If the hospital was revamped with new state of the art equipment in proper supplies it would improve every job and patient ratings. Continue to reduce redundant charting so focus can be more patient related.
