More Pros and Cons

  1. "Burnout City"

    Pros

Knowing that you can actually stay at Bayer for 50 years and retire there . You can get by performing below your level and hire temps to do your job and then fire them when management starts investigation what you do daily . This is a company where no urgency is exercised Among full
Time employees they all protect one another and temps are simply throw aways.

    Cons

Well they will strip contractors of any respect and or esteem they might have had. No chance of being permanent is given unless you land in a department that does in fact practice Bayer core values . Humiliation is something Bayer uses to keep contractors in check . Roles with visibly are rarely given especially if you are hired to keep a department afloat. There is no true role to describe wearing multiple hats but the biggest con of all is being harassed daily and the harasser mainly FTE staff feels it's well deserved .

    Advice to Management

Not sure if higher managers even care because some of them choose not to participate in meetings and actual activities below them.

    I worked at Bayer full-time

    Pros

    Ummm.........? The pay, I guess.

    Cons

HORRIBLE culture. When I have to spend time meeting with colleagues to discuss how we are being bullied by our manager, it's not a good culture. Went to HR and they did nothing. So we left the company to pursue a less toxic environment. Life is too short.

    Advice to Management

    Get a grip.

Horrible backstabbing and non-trusting women in management positions everywhere in the company! No room for growth unless you are subservient to these nasty women that call themselves managers. Very dishonest management team. The worst inner office environment you could ever imagine!

I have been working at Bayer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay, benefits, global systems, workforce (not inclusive of management or union labor)

    Cons

RUN AWAY! Positive reviews on GlassDoor were engineered be PUblic Policy department to improve results of internal bi-annual survey.. This place is not for fighting the wind mills. This employer's practices will crush your soul, strip you of any dignity, make you re-define workplace ethics, coerce you to sleep your way to influential assignments.
HR biases permeates every facet of Berkeley Site professional life, makes cultural change impossible.
Cold hearted disregard of CFRs and cover up of GMP violations by middle and upper management is rampant, it is the true root cause of chronic contaminations and loss of product potency. Employees who try to "Do the right thing" are chased out of the organization in blood-curdling fashion.
Back-stabing, visious gossip, old boys network, German upper management evaluates CA employees the way one would look down at an ant hill.

    Advice to Management

Your "See no evil, hear no evil" posturing puts patients in danger! Stop pretending that you dont know about massive daily violations of GMP practices by technicians in every part of your Manufacturing facility.

    Pros

Telecommuting options available, but apparently in my department for senior staff only.
    Lots of employee resource groups.
    Great cafeteria.
    16 volunteer hours.

    Cons

    Like to be bullied?
Like management & HR to do nothing about it?
Then Bayer is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the good old boys club and get real about harassment, discrimination and hostile work environment. The $100 million discrimination and hostile work environment lawsuit speaks volumes. Nothing has changed. Listen when your employees tell you there are serious employee morale issues.
