I have been working at Bayer full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management cares, products are the best in the business, benefits package is pretty standard but overall it is a good place to work.

    Cons

Bonus/compensation program Is unrealistic. Their numbers are unobtainable for the majority or the sales reps. The company wants the reps to change but they are unwilling to at the top.

    Advice to Management

Lear to have flexibility. Territories need to be looked at individually before a blanket quota is given. Threats of job loss are not motivating.

I worked at Bayer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay & benefits. A few good people to work with.

    Cons

Too many to list. Many nasty, back-stabbing people who did not work and play well with others. Very, very political place. Does not invest in growing its employees. Women are terrible to each other. Seriously, life is too short to work someplace like this.

    Advice to Management

Stop harboring the bullies. There are a few key individuals in several groups that make it a very toxic environment. They need to be shown the door.,

    Pros

Good benefits and matching 401k plan. Many locations throughout the world with a good opportunity to relocate to locations within the country or in other countries

    Cons

Large company with a culture where change is slow and requires approval through many layers of management. Multiple managers for each employee.

    Advice to Management

Update structure to allow and embrace change from employees. Establish a culture to allow for more rapid change to enable personnel to improve processes for better cost savings.

    Pros

Bayer is a good company. There are opportunities for growth in your career and in business

Bayer is German owned chemical company. This makes it a bit bureaucratic with a slow decision making process. It is also a conservative company competing in a risk taking environment.
