I have been working at Bayhealth Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent growth opportunities and good teamwork.

    Cons

Often very stressful work environment due to high patient acuity and all-important patient satisfaction scores.

    Advice to Management

Hire nurses you can trust and then allow for more nursing autonomy. Spend "a day in the life of a nurse" to see how your decisions affect nursing workflow and patient experience.

I have been working at Bayhealth Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Goal-oriented in caring for patients and people.

    Cons

Hard to find management when you need them, and little/weak communication from them. You have a 30-minute lunch, but unless you want cafeteria food, it takes about 5 minutes to get to the parking lot and 10 to find parking and try to click in on time when you get back.

Short staff in places and some people over-worked.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees more

I worked at Bayhealth Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My supervisor was nice but had given up on trying. She understood that leadership was incompetent and didn't care about making a positive change.

    Cons

Poor pay, benefits, departments don't work with each other, leadership isn't transparent and doesn't work (or care) to retain employees. High turnover is due to poor management and leaders who are bullies.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people as people, not a means to an end. Provide mentorship opportunities, there are a lot of bright young people with potential that are being lost to other companies due to inept management. Reorganize HR, employee relations team is the root of the problem. They are bullies and don't treat people with respect.

    Pros

flexible shifts, shift work pay, great benefits, plenty of opportunity for moving up

    Cons

as relief can require travel for work, choice of department is not always guaranteed

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work and the parking can be a bit of a hassle, other than that there is not a down side

I have been working at Bayhealth Medical Center (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive salaries and good employees/ staff

    Cons

The senior management team are incompetent and the Human Resources leadership are bullies and rude to employees. The leadership at this organization don't care about employees, quality care, or patient satisfaction as reflected in their publicly reported information

    Advice to Management

Do your job, stop creating a negative environment for employees, hold people accountable, get new human resource leadership they are incompetent, listen to your employees and patients, and at least act like you care about your community!!!
