I worked at Baylor College of Medicine full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Career development center genuinely cares about the students. At the heart of the largest med center. Stipend is decent. Great place if you're a 100% academic track student and have experience working in elitist academic institutions.

    Cons

Onsite parking is very expensive. Racism, microaggressions, sexual harrassment, bullying occur occasionally within the grad school and faculty communities. Administration does not often address it. Very little non-academic professional development. Career development center does what it can. Diversity/inclusion and Title IX are not taken seriously by administration, yet are obsessed with their BCM brand. Elitist, hostile academic environment. YMMV.
