I have been working at Bayside Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I am an internal Bayside team member. Bayside is a place to learn and grow; promotion is common within the team. Morale is high with lots of love to go around. There have been a lot of changes in the past year that have made Bayside a great place to work. The management team works effectively together, and they have high expectations for each team member to be an expert in their own space. We all care about and respect one another. We trust one another to uphold Bayside’s core values: trust, accountability, consistency, integrity, and teamwork. The best part of Bayside is the teamwork that is exhibited every day. The business works because we all hold a piece of the puzzle.

Bayside provides breakfast every Friday. We celebrate once a month with cake and ice cream. The breakroom is hopping at lunchtime with people playing arcade basketball, and watching sports or playing the Xbox on two large screen TVs. We are housed on a business campus with lots of perks. Just a five minute walk from BART, our campus has a bocce ball court and putting green, onsite dry-cleaning, car wash and mobile gas service, multiple electric car charging stations, at least 20 restaurants in walking distance, a tree-lined walking path connecting buildings, a quiet sculpture garden, and my personal favorite: Food Truck Mafia every Friday.

    Cons

Bayside offers 401K but no matching.

    Advice to Management

    Add 401K matching

I worked at Bayside Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was at Bayside for over 3 years, and as the first job out of college it was a great place to gain experience. Unfortunately the only reason I stayed was due to the fact I had a team I enjoyed and a manager that worked with me to improve my capabilities.

    Cons

Though the company as a whole is not going anywhere soon. They would nickel and dime everything, change the commission structure every 6 months (resulting in the fact that I would make less when I had reached the 10K in spread, would be less in my commission structure) and high turnover (once saw 9 people either be fired or quit within 90 days). When I decided to leave, it was on good terms, but they had asked me to share with them my contacts/relationships I had personally built and use them to their advantage. Even my manager had said he protected us from the executive team, as they would try to control our professional reputations.

    Advice to Management

Recruiting is hard, and having commission makes life more stressful. If they get they receive financial stability they might make a comeback, but unfortunately I believe they will be closed in just a few years time.

I worked at Bayside Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked for Bayside on a project supporting a large wireless company. Over the years I was lucky to have good support from the Bayside managers. My direct manager was the best boss I have ever had.

    Cons

Bayside was great but I wish that the company we did work for would have been more loyal.

I worked at Bayside Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management cared about my development and well-being........management worked hard to lessen the burdens of the daily grind.........great co-workers............owner invests in the company and is involved........strong dedication to culture and finding employees that fit........you will have a voice, no matter how junior you are.........some very smart and nice people work here

    Cons

San Francisco office recently closed down, so you are stuck in Pleasanton.............future outlook of company isn't too bright, company was getting smaller when I left (company has been around for 15+ years)..........lots of turnover, especially recently............you will probably get paid more at other recruiting agencies

    Advice to Management

Make a more competitive compensation plan or turnover will consistently be a problem. Also, some in management shouldn't present grim forecasts at times and project a stronger effort towards benefitting the recruiters.

I have been working at Bayside Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

First and foremost I want to say that I've been a recruiter since 2007 and I've seen a lot. I've been with a number of companies and have seen great success and have seen great failures. All of which make me the recruiter I am today.

Let's start at the top. Bayside has a combination of leaders who have been in the game for a long time. From the CEO down to the managing director, each and every one of them know the business better than anyone with which I've ever had the pleasure of working. They completely understand the business and all of them have the natural ability to present the business and the industry with clarity to current staff and onboarding new hires. They manage us with tact and respect and treat all of us equally as fully functional members of the business as a whole. They inspire an environment of "us" and not an environment of "I," and if there is a disagreement on a subject, they take dissenting opinions and look at them as avenues of enhancement as opposed to conflicts or positional gaps. The leadership team allows you to present innovative solutions for success and applies them to the business as long as the solution makes sense for the company and the client.

As such, this industry has a culture of extreme micromanagement. However, Bayside offers an environment of extreme autonomy. If you are a dedicated recruiter then management allows you to work your desk on your own volition. They shy upon managing the amount of calls you've made which translates to the amount of "in persons" you've had, which translates to the amount of submittals you've made (interviews, placements etc.) They allow you to run your desk the way you know how to as long as it translates into wins.

Now, the teams of recruiters. WOW. What a collaborative group of like minded individuals who are all in this business to work hard and help this company scale for great success, and to achieve great individual success. The camaraderie that I get to experience each and every day make my job an absolute pleasure to go to each and every day. We all work together to achieve goals. We constantly bounce leads off of eachother, refer candidates to eachother, talk about the latest trends in technology and business and ALWAYS have each others backs. We're a family. When I came on I was greeted with acceptance and warmth. If I had a question, I knew I could ask anyone and I'd get an answer. The teamwork at Bayside is second to NONE in this industry and if you want to feel like you have a "professional family" then you can call this place home.

    Cons

The only thing I'd say here is probably location. I work in pleasanton and live in San Jose, and our other office is in downtown San Francisco. I actually enjoy my commute on 680 because it's a very pretty drive so no complaints. However, being in the technical space in silicon valley it might be valuable to have an office closer to the hub of Silicon Valley. Basically anywhere in the 408 area code.

    Advice to Management

Seriously guys. Keep on keeping on. You're doing very well.
