I worked at Baytex Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great company to work for!

    Cons

Down turn in the oil business has caused a staff reduction at all oil companies and this one is no different

    Pros

Have some really good assets. Have a number of excellent people working their assets.

    Cons

Not an exploration company. MLS with primary concern being dividends. Long term vision is limited.

    Advice to Management

No longer paying dividend....so the old rules do not apply. Need to expand your opportunity horizon.

I worked at Baytex Energy as a contractor

    Pros

Very little processes in place which makes it easy to move deliverables but not best practice. Due to a small company you may fit in or not depending on which department you are in.

    Cons

As to the small company and being a fit this turns into a popularity contest which took more work effort then focusing on your day to day work. Since there are no processes you relied on individuals and need to have a good relationship to move things along.

    Advice to Management

Improve maturity on the process side.
