    Pros

Great perks, younger crowd, free computer, whole foods in office.

    Cons

If you didn't attend UT, you won't be good enough for their standards. Management is clicky. Everyone drinks while on the job. The pay is terrible. It feels like high school because there is too much jealousy.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging your employees. Treat your employees as adults. Don't play favorites. Learn how to give Constructive criticism.

I have been working at Bazaarvoice part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This a great job if you need flexibility and can work autonomously. I have worked there over a year and overall have few complaints since it is a very easy job if you like to read and can focus on volumes of content in little snippets for hours on end. Most coaches seem pretty smart and nice.

    Cons

Basically, any major issues I've had have been resolved. There is a tendency to not be very sensitive to personal (working from home) issues that might result in less than stellar performance from time to time, but it is also very important to have very few errors so client's websites are safeguarded.

    Advice to Management

Many of these moderators seem very responsible so please remember to treat everyone with sensitivity and respect. Remote employees are highly sensitive to negative comments made through email feedback which is how performance criticisms are communicated.

    Pros

Generous compensation, new key hires that want progress. Strong product, support and customer groups. Extremely smart engineers. CEO is very engaged and understands what needs to be done.

    Cons

Misguided "I think this will work" leadership. Inability to complete anything. Engineers are overpaid and led to believe they run the show. Unfortunately, that leads to large, over-engineered solutions with no affect on business goals. Ignored client requests to focus on core products and instead the focus has been on an untested, unknown user market with shopper advertising. That path has caused every other part of the business to suffer. Its basically a Convio club and if you arent formerly an employee of that company, you arent given any opportunities to succeed. Too much Ra-Ra leadership and not enough accountability. CEO is not told the realities.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the experience of those you hired. Remove the fear and become the industry leader you are. Stop guessing and letting engineers make all the decisions. When every engineer is labeled a 'top performer' yet nothing ever gets to clients, reexamine why that is. Build accountability in the teams. Open culture is a joke. Its open as long as you agree.
