Good mentorship from top sales reps. Fun company outings. Hours are relatively lax, how much money you make depends on how much you want to work.

Training from management was not the best for a sales job.

All seems well at first, then it is down hill on a double black diamond slope

Beacon Funding was a company I enjoyed working at for about 9 months. During this time, the leadership really did a good job pretending to listen to ideas, make you feel like you were contributing, and stroking your ego to make you feel like you were part of the "in" crowd. The Flex Time option was nice, you could use the time if you needed time-off or get is paid out at the end of the year, BUT there is a large warning with that as you will see in the Cons. The Office was nice, the break rooms were nice and usually there were plenty of snacks around to keep people happy. There were parties and outings that were fun. The other co-workers were all nice, but at least in the department I worked, there was always a fear in their eyes. You had access to the decent technical resources, and were able to do your job, but there also was a catch in this as you will see below. All in all for 9 months I felt like I was part of the team.. and then...
Cons
So then, after about 9 months, things changed. Once it became expected that you were not going to walk soon, the attitude and tone of the management changed. Rather that putting on the facade to make you feel comfortable, their true nature came out. The nature of I am the smartest person in the room, and nothing anyone else says matters. There are basically 4 people in management whose voices matter, the rest are just there to punch the keyboard or move a mouse, or make some phone calls, no advice or opinions, just be the monkey grinding the organ. And the punching the keyboard, moving the mouse, and making phone calls is literal, as there are monitoring tools watching every movement. That is how people are ranked, how many keys they push each hour, or how much their mouse moves. There are tools on PCs that screenshot EVERY time your screen changes, talk about taking a top of the line PC and making it perform like a budget PC. As mentioned in other true reviews on Glassdoor, the lack of trust is palpable. I left this company before the COVID crisis hit and offices were closed, I can only imagine the fear, and threats about working from home from management. The amount of tracking and spying that must have happened... Now lets talk about the reviews on here. I am sure this review will be buried by forcing their current brand new employees to write a positive and glowing review. That is the MO, every time a true review comes up, it seems to get buried fairly quickly by new or current employees writing glowing reviews that have a forced feel about them. Basically it comes down to one or two simple things, if you want to feel empowered, appreciated, and part of the team, enjoy the first 9 months. If you enjoy feeling like a child, being watched 24-7, being put down, talked to like a child, and being told how you should appreciate working there, then you will enjoy your next year.

Pros
Great CEO and President, Good environment and benefits,
Cons
Tough market but if you work hard it really pays off
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
good money, good people, ok benefits
Cons
career structure is not the best. you have to really grind to get up.
- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Good entry level job for new sales reps
Cons
Management only focuses on who works the hardest not who produces. There are plenty of reps who just dial all day and rarely make any sales. A sales rep could make far more sales than most reps and still get slack because your “active” hours are low. This is what happens when an accountant runs a company and lacks information about sales. Working harder is far more valuable than working smarter at Beacon.

Good team atmosphere and you can make money

high rates to sell to low credit customers
