I worked at Beaconhouse School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a big organization and your kids get to study where you are teaching

    Cons

The branch I worked at had the worst head. She was manuplative and exploitative. Making teachers work late hours. The never ending demands of board decoration etc. A teachers growth only depends on how well she knows the headmistress and whether she is in the good books of the headmistress or not.

    Advice to Management

Pleasee conduct employee surveys. Your organization really needs to move foward in terms of HR

  7. "Weak HR policies - Exploitative Heads"

I have been working at Beaconhouse School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Its a big system

    Cons

Their School heads can easily override HR policies and their is no protection for employees.

    Advice to Management

One of the reasons someone decided to work in a school is obvious. The three month summer holidays that teachers get. It helps women have a good life and work balance. Now imagine being told by your head just at the cusp of your vacation that you will need to come to work over the holidays because working extra is good for your career. Isn't this subtle blackmail? You don't give us advance notice and then send a subtly worded email to us reminding us whats good for us despite knowing that what you are asking is not part of our JD. And the clause in most company contracts that says that you will assist the organization in any other duties required of you does not mean that you will do it in on days that are legally supposed to be off duty. Its unethical and downright immoral. Please have your HR conduct 360 reviews with the employees. Otherwise your heads are going to continue exploiting their employees and one of these days you will find yourself in the middle of a social media storm similar to what Khaddi or others have had to face. Please!
