I worked at Beard Papa's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, delicious cream puff aroma, nice atmosphere. We often get regulars and it's nice to strike up conversation with them.

    Cons

Often very busy and difficult to keep up with the customer's special requests. Closing can take an hour or longer.

    Advice to Management

Please make sure you train the new staff members about all aspects of the job.

I worked at Beard Papa's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Get to work a pretty flexible hours if you're a student. Weekdays are really calming so you don't feel as stressed
-The staff was really great to work with, everyone I worked with was incredibly kind and felt like family.
-Great location people are really nice and there's security guards in the mall so there's always people on the look out.

    Cons

-The owner of this Beard Papa's lacks compassion for her workers. I heard many people in the pass weren't able to get their tips. Tips are the benefits of working in a food related customer service job, what sucked was we had to take note of the tips we get daily and add it monthly. But we weren't given our tips. We were told it was okay to take our tips away from us to pay our wages due to the new increase in minimum wage in Seattle which makes it okay for small businesses during adjustment period. But if that is true, when they were taking tips in the pass doesn't have an excuse.
-Not many people feel as if they can speak up because they're either young in high school or English isn't their first language and this is the only job they feel like they can get.
-There was easy contact with the owner, but solutions to take place took a lot longer.
-I didn't feel comfortable using old custard but was pushed to use it due to the fact we'd make our boss lose money.
-Didn't have manager at all times, had to contact every other employee on their days off when owners didn't answer or get back.
-Weekends are hectic especially with the amount of people working their. Which is one person sometimes and we have to take on all task of a cashier, baker, janitor, and accounting daily sales.

    Advice to Management

Reflect on the ethics of your work and how you treat your employees.

I worked at Beard Papa's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is not hard work. Just pumping puffs, cashier, and cleaning.
You are working by yourself, so you don't have to deal with drama with co workers.

    Cons

Taken advantage of. I had to stop by the store and pick up stuff on my way to the mall. (I was not clocked in while doing this)
Working by yourself, it can get very boring.
    Passing out coupons.

    Advice to Management

Don't take advantage of your employees. At the time I did not know, but this is unethical. Also, install cameras because the employees were stealing.
