I worked at BearingPoint full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

as a young consultant, the perks are awesome and working for different clients in different industries is a great experience to put on the resume

    Cons

the travel can get a bit dull, especially when it's to remote places. also if you're not actively seeking new projects and the best projects you will ultimately get left out.

    Advice to Management

help younger consultants get in the game better by assigning mentors and allowing them to get more training on everything the company does -- especially learning new softwares.

I worked at BearingPoint (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance, great people and office is in a great location. Frequent team nights out and social club outings all covered by the company. Strong engineering focus.

    Cons

As expected with a consultancy firm the culture of the company is on the corporate side of things. This results in using slightly older frameworks and languages. Not much control on what projects you might end up in either.

    I worked at BearingPoint full-time

    Pros

Many new clients with a multitude of different project needs. Gave employees the ability to become involved in many different technologies and project types.

    Cons

Significant amount of travel involved. Landing on the bench was somewhat frequent at times with little room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Provide more detailed discussion surrounding what opportunities are upcoming, how employees can get involved and what training is necessary so that when they hit the bench there is a need.

    Doesn't Recommend

    I worked at BearingPoint full-time

    Pros

Years of experience in a single year. This company allows you to see into several companies and systems which may otherwise take years to experience. Typically great people to work with.

    Cons

Often times too much work specifically put on younger staff. It was not the "dream job" many think of. Veteran team members often take the easy path and hard working team members are not always rewarded, just given more work.

    Advice to Management

Participate in more one-on-one reviews, watch out for young talent instead of burning out young talent.
