I worked at Beaumont Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great staff and fun to work with.

    Cons

Very busy and could use extra help but that wasn't the fault of the manager or director. They could only hire as many as they were allowed to.

I have been working at Beaumont Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Quality of employees with high standards of care, the patient always comes first for the health care providers

    Cons

Management only interested in profit, especially following the merger with several other local hospitals

    Advice to Management

If your idea of uniform benefits across the organization is to peak the cheapest options everywhere you will lose many high quality employees at the Royal Oak campus, and it will be very difficult to rebuild a ruined enterprise.

I have been working at Beaumont Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learn skills. Good experience. Benefits are ok. Not too far from home or freeways

    Cons

Short staffed. My floor only offers $60 bonus per four hour block on weekends. Weekdays it's $50 bonus per 4hr block. Staff not appreciated

I have been working at Beaumont Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great condition workers! Good benefit package

    Cons

Raises based on health system financials status. No raises based on performance. No guarantee for even a yearly 2%

    Advice to Management

Bring back raises based on merit. Focus less on gimmicky marketing ideas and put the marketing $ into quality patient programs

I have been working at Beaumont Health part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Diverse patient population
    -Supportive nurses
    -Supportive management
    -Many opportunities for advancement

    Cons

-Many nurses are burned out, which in turn causes them to be apathetic and lazy
-Some floor NAs don't value floating NAs
-Certain charge nurses can be less than helpful
-Only 3 call-ins/year... How do you expect your staff to take care of people when they are sick themselves?

    Advice to Management

Please improve working conditions, as to reduce the incidence of burnout. Also, it would help to be slightly more lenient on the attendance policy, because life happens.

I have been working at Beaumont Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I liked the staff I worked with and management kept the department pretty organized. Vacation time was flexible, I never had any issues requesting days off. Pay was ok, but Beaumont skips on raises some years. That's typical of most hospitals lately.

    Cons

Customers/patients were so rude and spoiled. Many acted as if Beaumont staff owed them something. Their behavior was like that towards all staff, from registrars to physicians. Maybe it was because of the area. Most patients came from Birmingham and royal oak.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the employees

I worked at Beaumont Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    None none none none

    Cons

Management is horriable. Place is a joke. Nurses won't help or do anything except sit at nurses station and gossip all night. And say it's not their job to take a patient to bathroom if
assistants are busy poor patients are told to wait by nurses. I would never take a loved one here. I would be scared to leave them. Managers just gossip about other employees and put them down.

    Advice to Management

Leave your office and come out on floor and see what's going on.
