I have been working at Beauty Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free product when Management doesn't hoard it for themselves. Discount is pretty competitive for industry standards. Decent hours.

    Cons

Catty. Favoritism. Lack of Support, unrealistic expectations (number wise), poor employee retention. No accountability. Low work ethic and standards.

    Advice to Management

Be present in the stores. Don't sit in the office. Actually get out and work the floors. Find out your employees needs and try your best to meet them. Be realistic. Hold each and every employee accountable for their contributions to the whole success of the store. DMs don't stir the pot among your managers and their employees (just because you need the drama). Don't encourage the gossip. Be proactive in finding solutions to employee disharmony. The ends do not justify the means.

I worked at Beauty Brands part-time

    Pros

Love most of the people, and the flexibility on personal life

    Cons

No communication at all from corporate office, to General Manager, to salon pro

    Advice to Management

Learn how to communicate with you workers, there is always going to be things you don't like to do, don't put in on one person then pick at everything that person does when she is doing the job of 3 people cause you want to sit in the office all day

I worked at Beauty Brands part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

•Was able to pick through return box, got to bring home many free products. (It is against beauty brands company policy for any employees to be able to take home returned product for ANY reason)
    •50% discount on salon services.
•25% discount on everything in the store.
•Works very well with your schedule.

    Cons

•The management is EXTREMELY unprofessional, and don't even bother calling HR. You won't receive a call back.
•Beauty Brands doesn't care about their employees what so ever. For all the high end, top brands that you work with you would think the pay would be more than minimum wage.
•HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA. The drama level and talking behind everyone's back is unbelievable. Even management joins into the gossip, undermining and belittling every one working for them.
•Management expects you to follow every rule, and every regulation when they don't show by example what so ever.
•Employees talk horrible about previous clients, right in front of new clients that they are helping!
•Long hours, standing on your feet the entire time. You're never allowed to sit. You get one 15min break, after working for 6 hours.
•Management won't put their foot down, and if they do, it'll last for about a week. Then the unprofessional work environment comes back into play. It honestly amazed me how rude, and petty the management was.
•Work place was very slow paced, most of the time people will not walk in the store for hours and your left standing there starring at the wall. You could ask management if there's work to be done, but they'll probability tell you everything has already been completed.
•Everyone acts like your friend to your face, and once your shift is over they talk about your personal life and review everything you did wrong that day.

This was my first job, to be honest I loved it at first. I loved working with all the high end brands and the makeup, I didn't even care about how little the pay was! But once I got personal with everyone and started to get comfortable, the back lash started. I wouldn't recommend this work place to anyone. Unless you like resenting your managers for being so unprofessional and the company for just blatantly showing you how much they don't care about you as an employee or a person.

    Advice to Management

Show employees that you care, let them know you support them. Although there's many other factors to a company and everyone works together to earn the money, The CSS is the face of your store. If you don't respect your employees how can you expect them to respect your business?

    Cons

They are community college drop out leadership, top to bottom. Have no idea what they are doing, and cause drama and push back for all the wrong reasons. I hope they go out of business.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay to attain leaders with a history of success and skill. Sad to see such little talent overall.

I worked at Beauty Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule.
Good prestige makeup brands and wide selection of hair care products.
    Amazing sales and clearance.
Discount 20% off products 50% off salon services.

    Cons

    Underpaid.
No gratis, management usually keeps all that to themselves.
    Minimal education.
    No room for artistry.
Very little amount of tools to use for artist.
    Management very passive aggressive.
    A lot of favoritism.
    Unorganized structure in store.
    Almost little to no clientele.
Only time store will get business will be during their famous sales or if you already have a client base coming in.

    Advice to Management

This company has so much potential to become a great one stop beauty store.
But giving minimal pay to employees, playing favoritism, their management treating their employees with disrespect using passive aggressive tones and statements. Even upper management have sour attitudes and disrespectful ways to coach their employees. Instead of giving empowerment and motivation, they bring you down and make you feel real bad. Which loses motivation to work there.
This company will not see any progress if they continue on this path.

Learn from other successful companies. Their business is successful thanks to the help by HAPPY employees and team building management.

    Pros

There are nice people who work for the company.

    Cons

They do not pay their staff a fair wage. They over promise and under deliver. It's more like a sorority house than a highly productive and functioning business. When real issues are brought to light... It falls on deaf ears.

    Advice to Management

Less conference calls... More interaction with clients and product & sales training.
