    Pros

A company with great people and a laid back culture. The company was hit hard when the housing industry declined.

    Cons

There was not a lot of growth opportunity in the company. Prior legal trouble hampered the growth of the company.

    Great Benefits

    Pros

Great company benefitst company benefitst company benefits! Incredible PTO policy from the beginning. The company culture is great. Very connected for a big company.

    Cons

Onboarding training needs improvement. The Covid situation was handled poorly. Many lost jobs and the ones that remained were overworked and expected to take on 2 to 3 roles apart from their own.

    Moving in the right direction

    Pros

I have worked at Beazer for over 5 years and have seen a lot of changes. I have been able to grow and learn in my career and the culture of the company has really changed. I can see that the C-suite is really invested in the culture and making this a company that people are proud to work for.

    Cons

There are some divisions and departments who have not embraced the direction we are moving so I think everyone's experience is different.

Be wary of reviews 1 yr or under in 2017, early 2018

    Pros

Beazer has no culture or employee engagement so the company is taking steps to change that. They just started to have company gatherings in 2017 including a charity initiative...most companies already have this in place. There is excitement in the air because of it but it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the long run. Some would say this is how Beazer is but do you really want to be on a team of self-absorbed people? This is Corporate. Divisions have a much different environment and morale but again depends on which one. Some people really do get lucky with who they work with! Trust your gut but I would pass on working here unless 2 years or so is ok. PTO is good but it’s all grouped into one (sick days, personal days, etc.)

    Cons

Worked on some great projects (with aggressive hours yet solid projects) but worked under someone who had very little management training, was aggressive and basically fakes the funk. She was late almost every day even to meetings and provided no input or encouragement. If they feel like you are in tune to the cover up or challenge these so called directors approaches you will be talked down to until you leave or are terminated. HR is just as in the dark to really diagnose the real morale issues.

Data driven company with career opportunies.

    Sep 24, 2020 - Manager FP&A in Sacramento, CA

    Pros

Great team at the Sacramento Division (and company-wide). Very generous PTO benefits. Compensation and bonus opportunity was competitive within the industry. Beazer looks to first promote from within when a position becomes available/open, which translates to career growth opportunities. Career growth can be huge if you are a hard worker and also open to relocating to another division to pursue an opportunity that is not yet available at your division. Company is a leader within the industry on data management.

    Cons

Not sure this is a "con", but you must be able to handle being held accountable. Depending on the position and timing, you may be asked to relocate for a promotional opportunity (can be viewed as a pro or con, depending on the circumstances).

    Cons

Run very lean and mean Because we run lean and mean we have a small group (like a family) and sometimes that mean you have personalities clashes.

    Overall, Terrible Company

    Oct 26, 2018 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Pay is decent. When they hire 'new blood' they attract people that are smart and capable because of decent pay and generous PTO policy. The CEO is smart and capable of growing the company.

    Cons

Where do I start? I have a lot of respect for the CEO, but he needs to clean house with upper management. My Regional President and VP at Corporate were completely clueless with how to do their jobs and grow the company. I think they spent their entire day trying to look and sound good for the CEO, vs doing the job they needed to do. At the division level, it's filled mostly with people who have been in the industry forever, and recycle the same 5 ideas over and over. If you have one bad week of sales, you have to spend the entire next week coming up with new plans in 15 different formats. But, just pull from your bag of 5 tricks, and then change it up again the next week and you'll get a free pass. Everyone is overworked and fresh ideas are not welcomed. Moral is low, home designs are dated, and marketing efforts date back to 1995. People speak about this behind closed doors, but are afraid to speak up otherwise. A handful of sales people are capable and driven. Others show up when they want to and have managers that have no clue how to motivate or manage a sales team. Sales managers are a huge joke - so much so that good sales people are impossible to hire because their reputation is known all around our city.
