    Pros

Great staff of people, always willing to help you grow. Great pay. They are willing to help you grow and learn. They value their staff and are listening to suggestions.

    Cons

Not really a con, but they are always improving so it is not a place to slack off.

I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company has evolved over the 10+ years that I have been here and have never stayed still for very long. BC takes on challenges with discipline and accountability. New leadership has driven a culture of transparency, stretch goals (not strain), and accountability for decisions made. Innovation and Product Development initiatives are leading to good progress in our product portfolio. Culture is demanding, yet rewarding. As an associate, you have the opportunity to challenge, own and drive change when needed. Good progress on diversity and inclusion initiatives in the last 18 months.

    Cons

Pace and continuous improvement culture is not for everyone. Need to be comfortable with change and be flexible as the company evolves.

    Advice to Management

Keep the momentum going to drive transparency.

I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time

    Pros

Great co-workers in the field. Your mentors can make or break you. You get to be your own boss to an extent. Company paid van, cellphone, gas, etc....decent amount of vacation as years go on. If you are left alone to do your job you can actually really enjoy your work and helping customers. Tons of OT if you want it and on-call pay if you want it.

    Cons

If you have been here a long time they will fire you just to clear space for new hires. They do it every year around Christmas. They will give you a severance package based on years of service. Your manger will not not call you with bad news. Nothing you ever do is good enough for their metrics. Raises are basic. None of these metrics are based on is what customers really want but what saves money for Danaher. Managers simply don’t last. Have had the same FSEs on the team the entire time and half a dozen bosses in the same time period.

    Advice to Management

Your FSEs don’t care how you did it when you were an FSE, that was a long time again and before Danaher. Even if you know your FSEs are great workers you are forced to tow company line, maybe try to be more human ?

I worked at Beckman Coulter full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to have a Fortune 500 Company on your resume

    Cons

There is a culture of putting employees through a meat grinder. They also hire a PR firm to make sure there are positive reviews on this site.

    Advice to Management

Why aren't there any executives in the company who have been in the industry long enough to know what's going on? Maybe you should figure out how to attract and retain executive leaders who can make a difference.

    Pros

Amazing co-workers that are hard working and care about the customers.

    Cons

Inconsistent management throughout the company. Depending on what role you are placed in, could have a great experience and a manager that develops their associates, but there are areas where that is not the case.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates and put them within roles where they excel. This will not only keep the employee engaged, but will increase productivity for the company.

    Pros

Caring coworkers and nice social events.

    Cons

Multiple levels of management give conflicting directions. Outdated technology to manage all aspects of work and no support staff.

    Advice to Management

Quit spreading core teams across multiple time zones and hire competent core team leaders

I worked at Beckman Coulter full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many associates are very good at doing their jobs, easy to work with and care about what they do.

    Cons

Poor management, there's a "good old boys" mentality and if you're not part of the club you're treated like an outsider. Don't expect to come into the company thinking you'll be promoted for doing work that exceeds expectations. There's very few opportunities for upward mobility.

    Advice to Management

Fix the culture and quit talking about it.
