I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time

    Pros

Beckman Coulter under Danaher has increased the efficiency of the Manufacturing Process, Quality process, Sales and Distribution processes.
Danaher is very good at eliminating waste and improving operations.

    Cons

Danaher seemingly does not have the expertise of developing technology. We have been trained in Rapid Prototyping methods to shorten design cycles but results are dubious, or not there at all. It seems like OpCos can get over powered by Danaher and as a result development efforts can be hindered, slowed or not even followed...

I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wrote positive review two years ago, situation has changed. Pros: very smart people, lots to learn, casual dress, flexible schedules.

    Cons

Opinion changed due to what looks like discrimination against a coworker: same work, worse rankings. Person left before paper trail could lead to firing. Also entire engineering group is shrinking, no replacement openings authorized. Major product about to be released, no plans announced for any development following that. Promotions are rare and criteria to advance are unclear and ignored anyway. Engagement scores were going up but nose dived this year. Lagging indicator of a company that doesn’t know how to make the tough changes needed to release instruments.

    Advice to Management

Lots of us want to do really cool work. And we’re talented. Maybe someday you’ll decide we should work together to release more products. I’m the meantime, good luck with your shrinking staff. We’ll take our expertise where people want to build things.

"Management is not up to par"

I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, our site is low key, many good people work here a long time so you have consistency and tribal knowledge

    Cons

Management not that great. There is a lot of favoritism which means many folks do not get the recognition for their hard work. Promotions seem to be link to favoritism as well. Many managers are so busy trying to look good on paper they do not take care of their department or their staff.

    Pros

Mostly nice team members and great if you are patient.

    Cons

They rarely hire people on so if you are a contractor always stay with your eye open for job openings elsewhere.
Environment can get tense due to complaint backlog.

    Advice to Management
