I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly Coworkers , manager , routine is pretty much the same everyday, can get very busy as long as you work fast and efficiently that isn't a problem. Get to leave on time unlike other retail places . The discount is pretty good as well.

    Cons

Rude customers (but every store has that), and coupons! Customers don't play about coupons. They take it so serious. Super busy on the weekends . Schedule is pretty set (depending on location and management), so if your closing on the weekends it'll probably stay like that for a while

    Pros

This was an amazing company to work for. Once I was hired, they trained me to be a great sales associate. Overtime I learned new things and how to handle customer issues.

    Cons

There isn't much room for a ladder to climb in this company.

I worked at Bed Bath & Beyond part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent Work/Life balance (depends on management and operations scheduler)
Good part-time work for students entering the workforce
Strong drive to constantly improve oneself (for store performance of course), but builds skills nonetheless
Strong retention for those willing to stay

    Cons

Company follows number-crunching trends. This becomes apparent in the bare minimum benefits, breaks, and amenities that they eek out to meet regulations.
The company does not promote part-time associates, in non-management roles, into management positions. Rare occurences may happen, but loyalty to the store does not payoff. The company is good for a year or two of experience in retail sales, and afterwards the next step would be to jump into another retail company that will bother to train you into positions of management.
The pay raises are atrocious, and the only people benefiting from improved store performance will be the full-time employment (mainly management) in the form of bonuses, while part-time employees will see little shift in hours due to district level productivity hour distributions and other management decisions.

    Advice to Management

A company that prides itself on providing the best customer service and satisfaction should be just as willing to provide it's employees (part-time employees especially) with the respect they deserve for maintaining and improving your brand image.
