I worked at Beech Brook full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

some employees were there for the right reason

    Cons

disconnect with upper management & direct staff

    Advice to Management

If only you would have invested in those children. If you understood what staff worked with. It was a good place for children. It felt like you closed your eyes completely to those literally paying your bills. Shame on you.

I have been working at Beech Brook full-time

    Pros

Independent working environment, ability to learn and grow, and ability to make a difference in children and family's lives.

    Cons

Not much ability for promotion at a clinical level, very low staff morale, high turnover rates, and high productivity expectations.

    Advice to Management

Staff morale needs to be built up, supervision needs to be more at a clinical level rather than focusing on paperwork and productivity.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Beech Brook full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, paid time off. Many coworkers were amazing, and people I still consider friends. Great training before being able to work with the kids, continuing education.

    Cons

Working in residential cottages, subpar therapy, undereducated staff who would retraumatize youth and management who were afraid to discipline said staff.

    Advice to Management

Be more hands on, not on the hill. When staff are experiencing bullying or outright insubordination, do something.
