    Pros

Entry level benefits and pay, casual work environment, flexible hours. Lower level management responsive to employee input.

    Cons

Contract labor; all jobs are contracts from other companies, OEMs

    Advice to Management

Do more research on competitive company benefits; ideal way to reduce attrition

I have been working at Belcan full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good, easy to get along with people, some interesting projects.

    Cons

They don't treat all employees the same when it comes to down-time pay. Some continue to receive their 40 hours pay when there is down-time and others are forced to go to part-time. This appears to be based on the office location of the employee (even if they work primarily from home) and the age of the employee.

    Advice to Management

Need to make a universal policy concerning down-time pay.

    Pros

Flexible, great people to work for.
    Competitive pay out of college.

    Cons

Too General Electric (GE) dependent, layoffs are quite random.
Benefits are pretty terrible, raises are fairly un heard of.

    Advice to Management

they have a new CEO so none yet, maybe he will start to draw in some more buisness

I have been working at Belcan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours at Belcan are the best part. Benefits could be better, but aren't abysmal. Coworkers are generally nice and there is a team oriented atmosphere.

    Cons

The pay is well below other companies. You turn off your brain to come to work. The company leadership is out of touch. You don't learn new or relevant skills to broaden your career prospects.

    Advice to Management

Negotiate to raise rates so employees can actually be paid what they are worth. Commit to your decisions, as the constant waffling breeds anything but confidence in the company's future.

    Cons

Terrible benefits no paid time off, no sick days, was laid off without any notice, didn't help get a new job at all

    Advice to Management

    Try and get better benefits

I have been working at Belcan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity for assignments in other locations. Up to you to find work and make a career.

    Cons

Hard to move up in the company. Poor management in some locations. Upper management is disconnected with engineers. Out-sourcing has failed. Management created a sense of gloom. Poor work moral.

    Advice to Management

Fire management who is only interested in bettering themselves and throwing employees under the bus. Fire management who would rather speak negatively about an employee openly in the office and to our customer instead of providing the right training.
Provide training for new employees instead of throwing them to the sharks day 1.
Stop out-sourcing. Once our customers realize it costs more, we will lose the contracts. Improve office moral.
Decrease overhead charges. Most projects went over budget because of insane overhead. Managers were charging projects they never touched.
Decrease cost of benefits. Promote internally. Too many people hired from companies who are retired/laid off. They no longer have the drive that a younger engineer would.

    Pros

Good facility and introduction to design engineering. I was introduced to numerous companies and projects. I've created many long lasting relationships across the industry.

    Cons

Low wages, always going from not enough work to more than can be handled, and there seems to be little regard from upper management towards the average employee.

    Advice to Management

Would be great to see a way to recognise good performances inside of each office instead of company wide. Constantly telling your employees about the amount of profit the company made but never handing out a bonus of any sort is disheartening.
