I have been working at Belcan for less than a year

    Pros

Pay is good. Schedule is flexible.

    Cons

Position was different than what was on my offer letter, and responsibilities differed greatly from what was vocalized during the recruiting process. Treated very poorly by the customer's management (This is specific to GE Aviation and will likely differ from customer to customer). Often excluded from activities and given very little exposure to members of the GE team. This was discouraging in that it feels like a dead-end job with no room for growth, advancement or long term placement within GE. Also, minimal communication with direct report at GE or with Belcan (never met my 'boss' from Belcan). Direct report at GE just wanted to make sure his numbers were right for leadership and didn't care about the well being or skill set of his employees.

I worked at Belcan for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you work for Belcan itself, it's a good stable company to work for. But if you do contract work for them, your representation is miserable.

    Cons

On the contract side - no room for upward movement, raises are non-existent; management is inexperienced.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Belcan full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - They hire you with little or no experience - Work/life balance and flexibility is really amazing. Come and go as you please and get paid for the hours you work. You want to go to the beach but the weekend looks like bad weather? Go to the beach on Friday and make up the time over the weekend! - VERY low stress job

    Cons

    - Customer only outsources low-level tedious tasks to Belcan; the customer keeps high-level lead positions internal, so there is no room for professional growth - Does not feel like a team - feels like a bunch of individual workers - Lance (CEO) makes it very clear in his actions that the employees are not valued or respected, and that they are merely sources of income that could be easily replaced. The founder of Belcan (Ralph Anderson) truly valued his employees, and would take time out of his day while visiting other offices to go around, introduce himself, and genuinely take an interest in his employees. Lance walks around the office strictly to get to his meeting.

I have been working at Belcan

    Pros

This is a temp agency and I have been a contractor with the same company for around 4 years. The only Pros I can think of is I receive a paycheck every week.

    Cons

The time off benefits are not provided by Belcan they are determined by the contract they have with the organization you are placed with. No career advancement. No room for growth. I don't think they advocate much for the contractors they employ I think they are more customer focused, which is understandable.

    I worked at Belcan full-time

    Pros

Flexible hours, learn a lot, most of the employees were retired so they were all extremely knowledgable.

    Cons

Very low pay, management seemed very unorganized, no room for advancement, was managed by non-engineers so it was very frustrating to ask for technical guidance.
