I have been working at Bell Canada part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Could take bus to work or walk

    Cons

No one gets hired full time, hours drop to 8 hours a week at times... It's sales sales sales... They use sales metric tracking system that usually is being updated during the month , so you get false info on your stats , Union does nothing but misuse time allocated for fighting for employees for personal monkey business . They rip you off of commissions ... Hierarchy of Bell is similar to the nazis running concentration camps during ww2... Mostly outsourced to other places like stream for minimum wage... Then bell has the balls to ask Canadians to fight to keep Verizon out ...

    Advice to Management

Bring back high paying jobs to london and any town you do business in or hello Verizon

    Pros

Brand name, market presence, largest Telecom in Canada

    Cons

lack of communication and respect for middle management, partners and employees. executive interested in filling their and investors pockets at the cost of their employees and partners/agents. Every year the rules of engagement and compensation changes if it is not to their advantage

    Advice to Management

Listen to grass root level employees and partner/agents. Don't make false promises by way of agreeing then year or 2 later going back on your word once new agreement is in place. Protect and treat emplyess and partner/agents fairly. Share your 6,7 and (8 figure CEO) with the people who are making the company profitable. CEO needs learn what is going on and what his management team is up to and be in tune with his employees

    Pros

Learned a lot about how Bell take advantage of immigrants and new graduates.

At least my coworkers were great.

    Cons

Low pay $100 dollars per day. Long hours at least 10+ hours per day. No benefits, use independent contractors to cheat the government. Hire young people who want experience or new comers to Canada who also need "Canadian" experience only to dispose of them as soon as they put in a multitude of hours.

    Advice to Management

    Stop taking advantage of people.

I worked at Bell Canada as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The interview process was great, the staff were nice, the tests are conducted quite fairly and the interview process although long was not bad. The people I interviewed with were quite warm and friendly as well. I don't want to penalise a great department for a bad company, but Bell is a bad company to work for.

    Cons

Grossly underpays their workers, I have no clue how they get away with it. Was offered the position but I had to decline, they pay a "daily rate" (unheard of for me) with no extra compensation, (working 9 am to 5pm with the expectation that staff stay well past 5) which is quite low and with the number of hours they were expecting us to work compensation would have added up to below legal hourly minimum wage. Do not work here.

    Advice to Management

Pay your talent, stop treating people like they are disposable. At least pay people minimum wage, don't pay a daily rate and don't require people to work past the 8 hour day if you are not going to compensate.
