    Pros

Local management generally gives you leeway to do your job.
    Does not micromanage.
Coworkers are a good group of people

    Cons

Lousy pay. One raise in last seven years.
    Outlook for raises is bleak.
No 401k matching in last seven years.
They expect the technicians to jump through hoops for nothing.
Never appreciated or compensated fairly for what is expected.

    Advice to Management

Quit. You are only ever concerned with your bonuses.
Ra Ra talk but always lies & doubletalk.
Treat the technicians with some respect. They are the only reason the company makes any money. All the other management are worthless.

    Pros

The work is exciting and frequently different. We have a good team that works hard to help the company be successful.

    Cons

The company is small and there isn't a lot of room for further advancement within the company. The company is rebranding itself to evolve for the future.

    Advice to Management

Remember the mission of the company and also remember the people who help you to achieve the mission and goals.

I worked at Bell and Howell (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Bell and Howell has some of the best service technicians and support staff in the mailing industry. It was a pleasure to work with such a hard working group of individuals.

    Cons

Company has gotten away from their core values of production and service of mailing equipment and has become a third party service organization. Poor communications from management down though the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to the employees. Employees are hesitant to approach upper management for fear of repercussions if management doesn't like what they say.

    Pros

One thing is the co-workers are team players who go the extra mile to get the job done. Unfortunately the company keeps scaling back a lot of good people are leaving.

    Cons

Company continues to lay employees off in order to make their money look better. Management is a joke with no direction. You would be lucky to see your manager twice a year.

    Advice to Management

No need to give advice, management wouldn't listen.

I have been working at Bell and Howell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Exposure to a variety of mid-tech equipment. Good people in support roles. Still have a good group of dedicated service employees that somehow manage to get things done without proper supply of parts but they are leaving when better opportunities appear.

    Cons

Insulated, management that believes that constantly bringing in new VPs and re-aligning the reporting structure is going to solve everything. Every new product service opportunity is touted as the next savior. Pay has not kept pace with inflation. Benefits continue to be cut every year. Company has been squeezed of all cash by owners. Spends money on overpriced tools with little return value like SAP and SDA. Management has no long term memory. after across the board 5% pay cut 8 years ago (which, by the way, 750+ hourly employees ultimately did not have to endure), management calls recent pay increases "raises'. Salaried employees are expected to work 50-60 hours a week because if they didn't, company would have folded up long ago.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be all tings to all people. You are turning this company into a bunch of service prostitutes: anything, anywhere, at any time for any amount of money. Get back to the core business and excel at it. Spreading field service, which is the only part of the business that's in the black, so thin is not going to improve the bottom line.
