I have been working at Belron Canada full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working on different vehicles so not much repetition when it comes to jobs

    Cons

No bonuses except to managers who don't deserve it. The technicians do all the work while managers reap the benefits. Would rather hire outsiders for management rather than promoting from within..

    Advice to Management

STOP hiring managers who have no clue about the business and have no passion for the work no skills and don't want to learn.. Instead of handing the Managers thousands of dollars in bonuses give some bonuses to the people who actually make the company money.. Morale sucks because of the greed and attitude of Managers. Quit hiring car salesman and drug store managers to run things.. I ran my shop for over a year (been there almost 15 years) and instead of promoting me to manager they hired someone who sold cars for a living and has no people skills or passion for the business..

    - Prosperous company in a highly competetive market.
    - Vast majority of staff genuinely nice, managers included.
    - CEO, Mr. Hosker is a true gentleman.

    Cons

    - Call center technology outdated.
    - Office installation more warehouse than head office.

    Advice to Management

Stop having Consultants running the show in IT.
Engage concretely in replacing old IT infrastructure.

I worked at Belron Canada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a good job if you are in-between jobs because the salary is decent. This should a student job only. As an adult, as I mentioned, this should be your last hope to pay bills after a lay off and not a permanent replacement for your previous job.

    Cons

It is a job that requires you to absorb lots of information in a short training span and then you are left on your own. I don't know what is more annoying, the turn over of outside-hired managers, the supervisors that are disconnected from the employees or the actual dealing with the public within inbound calls. The environment is disorganized. The hours are not flexible either, which they lie about during the "crash" training they provide. Why work in a call center if the hours are not flexible?

    Advice to Management

Hire managers and supervisors who are there to coach and assist in evolving the current staff's ability to do their job. Managers should not spend all day in meetings, which, and you don't have to be a business student to know, is not productive. Nothing even changes with all these meetings!

    Pros

They hear your advice and try to implement the suggested changes.
You have the possibility to do coding , engineering, integration and administration.

    Cons

The size of the IT department the volume and the type of their busyness
Make them to be oriented more on stabilising the actual development than looking toward new solutions.
This way after a wile you will need some challenge.

    Advice to Management

Having more documentation and applying a specific development process ( waterfall , Scrum).
Adopting existing technical solutions (not invent the wheel do to the size of IT department)

I worked at Belron Canada full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Open and approachable top management; care about community service and giving back; generous salary, benefits and bonus packages; understand life/work balance.

    Cons

Hourly paid front line employees come and go; seems disconnected from the executive level. HR group very powerful and can interfere.

    Advice to Management

Accept that salaried managers won't work as hard as entrepreneurial owners; pay good call center employees more than anyone else; take every sale you can and hire the technicians to do them, rather than cherry picking only the most profitable jobs.

    Pros

Benefits, pension, no more pros of working for Belron

    Cons

This company is purely run on greed and Profit. The management at the regional, and service centre level have no respect or caring for the employees. The human resources department will always side with management, even if the things they are doing are immoral, and sometimes even illegal. They hire managers with zero experience in the industry in their lack of knowledge causes great problems within the operations of the service center.

    Advice to Management

The executive leadership team, needs to do some investigating of the people that they put in charge to run these shops and regions. They need not rely on the information they are being given by these people, because they are being deceived on the situation is in the local areas. It is truly a shame that we are taught that the code of ethics applies to everyone but in reality it does not. Management are happy to give write ups if any complaints are expressed about the treatment that they are giving to employees. Hiring people from outside the company may not necessarily be the best option. These people have no concern about anything except for their own bonus and salary. Upper management needs to realize that they are losing many good people every year because of frustration, and disrespect. They need to start making solid decisions and how to prevent these things from happening and it has to start with respect for the employees. It is said if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

    Pros

Good benefits, good middle management. Good flexibility. Lots of locations to choose from and good opportunities to move up in the company.

    Cons

Seems to be little direction. Wants to to do more but giving less to have that happen. Have an exceptional talent pool but doesn't seem to want to look beyond middle management to get feedback

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging. Give direction to your middle & lower management and let them get the results.
