I worked at Belzabar Software Design full-time

    Pros

    * Great payer
    * Pay for overtime
    * Free snacks, CCD Coffee. Nice evening snacks, competitions and events on festivals
    * Some very talented colleagues
    * Jolly cordial atmosphere
    * An extremely down to earth and humble head of India.

    Cons

    * Morning 10:10am restriction. I would suggest let the team decide when to arrive and leave to stay coordinated and mentally ready for the day
    * If you leave before 7-7:30pm, even though you completed your 8 hrs at 5pm or the tasks for the day... you are considered non-productive.
    * Politics is on a rise here. A few people have power. You please them and you get it right.
    * It is expected to work only 8 hours and not do Overtime until necessary, yet everyday expected to sit till 8 pm and come by 10am.

    Advice to Management

    * Realize and stop giving power in hands of few. Stand up and say No to those who dictate terms
    * Reconsider the process of evaluation. We find our silent, non-show-off hard work going unrecognized and unappreciated.

I worked at Belzabar Software Design full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

1.Lovely People, As a Tester you get to work with NIT Developers who are passionate about their work
2.TT, Free Snacks, Yearly Outdoor Outing
3.Overtime Pay(it becomes a con sometimes as you can't say no to long hours.
4.Such a humble Director who is handling the Delhi office.
5.Food and cab facility if you spend more than 10 hours.

    Cons

1.Too much manual testing and you spend around 3-4 months in letters and receipt testing. Automation and performance testing came when i was about to leave the company.
2.You need to reach office at 10 am even if you leave office at 10 pm or you bonus will be affected(don't join if you are not leaving nearby)
3.Infrastructure needs to improve, no proper washrooms and seating places.
4.Payment is paid on an hourly basis and your manager notes every minute you log in the timesheet.
5.Too much restriction on your system, for every software you need permission and you can't open many websites such as youtube(every MB counts).
5.No db access, logs access, code access for testers which makes the debugging part impossible and you are purely dependent on devs.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro management and create leaders by giving them complete ownership

Improve your office infrastructure specially seatings and washrooms

Introduce security, database, performance and white box testing for testers and enable them to the level 1 debugging themselves.

scrap the 10 am rule, it becomes difficult for people to leave at 10 and then come office at 10 am if they lives 25 kms away from office.(one solution could be rotational shifts)

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Belzabar Software Design full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Intelligent and Talented team of developers, QA and leads.
    2. Good Compensation and benefits.
    3. Great learning curve for freshers.
    4. Great switching opportunities to companies like Google, Amazon and Microsoft.
    5. Overtime benefits.
    6. Flat hierarchy (One can directly contact CEO for any concern)

    Cons

    1. Lack of good projects that can help in better understanding of new technologies and design patterns.
    2. Lack of process especially code reviews and deployments.
    3. Lack of good project managers and business analyst that can actually understand the depth of client requirements and can decide the deadlines.
    4. Developers and QA are forced to meet the deadlines which results in bad coding practices and standards.

    Advice to Management

Increase the bar of recruitment process for the position of PM and BA as maximum of them lags in basic technical and industrial concepts. They are good in communication and email writing but that is not suffice.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Belzabar Software Design full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Friendly environment
    2. Overtime facility
    3. Free tea and snacks(unhealthy ofcourse)
    4. Within the main city (Janakpuri)
    5. Good appraisals and performance bonus

    Cons

    1. Though there is overtime policy but if you are short of work, you will be underpaid as well since you need to log every minute/hour in the timesheet.
Suggestion - if employee doesn't have work, minimum promised salary should still be given.
    2. No fixed timings. Team members come anytime, other team members keep waiting for them due to dependency.
Suggestion - Fixed office timings will prevent such situations.
    3. Need to complete 8 hours a day at any cost + required hours of the month as well. So if I am putting extra hours one day, why can't I leave early the next day?
Suggestion - required hours of month should make importance since employee may work extra a day, he can work less any other day.
    4. Regular late stays as there are no fixed timings.
Suggestion - manage work, employees and deadline such that everyone can leave for home on time to have his/her personal time.
    5. Frequent weekend shifts as well (work from home) and worst part is people agree to work as well. This gives OT but affects work life balance.
    6. Poor work life balance as everyone tend to work more than 8 hours a day.
    7. Need to put personal breaks in timesheet during any company wide celebration.
    8. Micro management is done.
    9. Lack of coordination of managers with client and offshore team.
    10. Appraisal process is completely opaque and delayed.
Suggestion - Add an interface on the portal where employee can track the appraisal process.
    11. Company name is no where mentioned outside the building.
Suggestion - At least have a board outside.

    Advice to Management

Take frequent feedbacks from employees about company & peers.
    Work upon them if feasible.
    And keep the feedbacks anonymous.
