    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Its a pay check and has decent benefits. But they will never hire another full time employee only season help and temp workers.

    Cons

Constant policy changes designed to write up and fire as many hourly employees as possible.
    Constant harassment from management.
Now matter what you do or how good you do it it is never enough.
    Unequal treatment between employees.
They hire people to run departments that have no clue about the production process for the department.

    Advice to Management

Quit changing policies every week. When your employees tell there is a problem listen. Employee morale is important and right now it cant get much lower. Learn to cooperate with the bargaining unit. They are not your enemy but are there to help.

I worked at Bemis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good. Parking is good. Lots of places to go if you need to get away for lunch (if you are allowed).

    Cons

No advancement for someone who isn't related to someone already in an advanced position or if you don't have a mechanical engineering degree. HR is a joke. If you have any issues they will not be handled appropriately or quietly. Management is slow to praise but very quick to pass the buck as well as the blame. Many managers can't manage and instead of being let go or demoted they are promoted or moved to manage a different angle.

    Advice to Management

Step out of your comfort zone and let go those you know can't manage. Embrace those who are true leaders and have great knowledge. Respect those below you and respond to their innovation, as you claim the company is based on innovation. Remember your hourly employees sacrifice a lot with the swing shifts they work.

I worked at Bemis full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Many responsibilities to manage such as software updates, testing, identifying improvements for business sectors, developing changes per customer requirements, second level help desk support, supporting the internal customers when problems or bugs were uncovered, travel, and much more.

    Cons

Top-heavy management, changes direction with the wind, continues to change the tires on the bus as it tries to drive down the road. No loyalty to the employee, failed to pay minimum pay rate for job description, pays less than industry standard, no matter how many hours or how much was accomplished, little positive feedback. Not supportive for employees over 40 years of age. Recent employee restructuring eliminated many over 40 professionals while still offering work for the same positions.

    Advice to Management

Insist on rate of pay before starting or don't expect to make the minimum through once a year pay raises (April 1). Negotiate vacation time. Keep an updated resume.
