    Pros

Benchmark provides many tools for successful business practices. They have great communication and high company morale.

    Cons

Went through a merger and is working out the kinks of including all new properties in the collection.

I have been working at Benchmark Hospitality full-time

    Pros

    -Great PPO Health Insurance Plan
    -Great Dental Insurance
-Tuition Reimbursement (changes based on time with company)
-50% Match up to first 3% of 401K after year 1
    -Employee rates at managed hotels

    Cons

Hotel business can be highly demanding, especially if you have a family. It could just be my property, but it seems like in order to "get ahead" no one ever stops working.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to hire even if it effects the bottom line. Overworked employees are not very loyal employees even if they feel valued.

    Pros

Working for Benchmark Hospitality was a great learning experience for me. I worked at one of their hotels in Chattanooga, TN and learned a great deal during my time there. As a whole, the company truly does believe in "being the difference" which just so happens to be one of the main objectives of the company. I was very proud to have been apart of the Benchmark family.

    Cons

At the hotel I worked for the only downside I can say I experienced was a lack of communication. Interdepartmental communication is KEY and when your management team and leadership staff are not on the same page it can cause things to spiral and create unnecessary problems and stress that can be easily avoided by making sure that everyone is communicating effectively and frequently.

    Pros

Great place to work. I was at Deloitte University and it was an amazing experience and I learned to be better at what I do.

    Cons

You always have to be available and the expectations and hours of middle management are unrealistic if you have a family

    Advice to Management

I would just say to help with the stress of CSM/EMM's. There is a lot of micromanagement and high pressure to point the finger when sometimes we are just humans and make mistakes. Great training and experience overall

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Payment per hour wasn't bad. Regular Benefits.

    Cons

Managers since we opened the hotel had unprofessional actitudes. They din't recognize good employees. In holidays seasons, the company don't give enough hours to employees to survive. (1 or 2 days a week)

    Advice to Management

Respect employees, respect schedules and hours to their full time employees.
I know the company changed the most of the managers in the CLE property. I hope they are better than the old ones.

Trusted to work independently, great team of co-workers.

    Cons

There was a lack of communication; no initial direction or training provided

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality full-time

    Pros

I worked out of the home office, which was close to my home. The C-Level team was phenomenal! Always had time for you, inquired how you were, great team programs.

    Cons

The GRSC (Global Revenue Support Center aka Central Reservations) had no option to move up within the company. Also, direct management was always very selective when it came to suggestions or schedules. You were either on their good side or not; no in between.

    Advice to Management

Provide actual opportunities to move up from Reservations agent, without having to move to a destination city and work at a resort. Also, provide the learning opportunities that were promised at monthly (usually) meetings.
