I have been working at Benchmark Hospitality full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is truly my second family, my home away from home. The moment someone walks into the building they can sense the family atmosphere seen amongst employee comradery. The service levels and expectations for what we do are phenomenal. I believe this is the product of the many continuous growth and development opportunities provided to everyone. I am proud to work for such a great organization that supports each other in any way possible.

Great and affordable medical benefits as well as perks that include but are not limited to: free meal during your shift, free access to state of the art fitness center, free parking, free uniform laundering, discounts at sister properties and with other partnering companies, employee recognition, etc.

    Cons

The location of the property can hinder commutes for some.

    Advice to Management

Continue to lead by example for others to follow and continue to promote professional development by supporting employees in their interests and goals. Help maintain the great name the organization has made for itself and its employees.

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality full-time

    Pros

Working with different people, engaging with clientele, Kind of work in a school-like schedule

    Cons

Underappreciation, lack of upward movement, inconsistency with reprimanding bad behaviors

    Advice to Management

Mgmt should appreciate the hard work of the employees who go above and beyond the work that they do. If people are doing a great job, not only should they be recognized properly, but also encouraged and trained to become the next leaders.

The opposite is also a problem; there are employees, who engage in bad behaviors, that are not given a talk to and address the issues that they cause. It gives an impression to those who are working hard and doing the right thing, that mgmt doesn't care about what happens. Sometimes the mgmt should separate their status as friends, and address those issues with the employees committing the offence, with a caveat that if the behavior continues, they will be removed of fired from the company.

    Pros

Nice place to work with good benefits. HR is helpful and the management is good.

    Cons

There is very little in the way of advancement, once you get to a level you are stuck at that point for quite a long time. Most of the time you have to move out to move up.

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If your interested in getting into hospitality and truly learning great customer service skills than this is a good place to start. They guarantee 40 hours a week to full time employees. Major holidays off , as well as provide free lunch/ dinner. Fitness center. With the right leaders they do mentor employees who show interest in growth.

    Cons

Front Office management was very political. It seemed as everyday was another day back in high school. I realized this company was not for me when I heard that a pipe broke on one of the floors and myself and a manager went to move guest items that could of been damaged due the pipe busting. Myself and this manager were trying to soak up some of the water and I over heard another leader (that was my managers boss) tell another leader "that's why he will never move up." Helped me understand that they did not value true leadership. They encourage the laid back observant type that would watch their team struggle during busy times to view the "process."

    Advice to Management

This is not high school. Stop ganging up on employees to force them to resign or find ways to write them up. I've seen great employees walk away due to unprofessional behavior by the front office staff.

The restaurant I worked at was a wonderful place great staff in the front and back of the house. It was a first kitchen job and the more experienced people were quick an willing to help me learn what I needed to do well.

    Cons

Work can be stressful at times, but it comes with the job.

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice place and decent atmosphere. Good co-workers. Some down time as well.

    Cons

They'll make you work really hard, lifting and moving heavy equipement. You'll have to wear uncomfortable non-slip shoes, or else they won't compensate your injury. In my case they didn't let me file an injury report regardless. Still injured almost 6 months later with no compensation. Not worth it, stay away. Poor management as well.

    Advice to Management

Don't even know where to start.
