We’re sorry you had a bad experience with some of our leads. We take pride in the extremely high bar we uphold for ourselves not just in terms of technical skills, but also human values. Nevertheless, it seems we failed to support you appropriately, of which, we apologize. It’s important to note that we’ve repeatedly won awards as one of or the best places to work in Europe, and that our incredibly tightly knit and supportive company culture tends to be among the most cited reasons making Bending Spoons special. So, while we acknowledge your experience was negative, it may not represent what the overwhelming majority of Spooners feel. Still, we take your feedback to heart, and wish you all the best!

Pros
Employees are one of the best things Bending Spoons has to offer— Intelligent, talented, and caring individuals to work with and from whom you can always learn something new. There is no politics: Everyone works towards the same, shared goal, which means no energy spent getting into each other's way for any individual gain. I had the chance to experience what "meritocracy" really means, which is something that many companies advertize (but very few apply). Overall, the company invests a ton in all of us to ensure our needs are covered, from the most basic—like having kitchenettes full of food to snack on— to the least trivial ones—including psychological support. And I could continue for pages, writing about how fascinating the markets we work in are, how informal and down-to-earth everyone is, the values that we publicize on our website—which everyone believes in, and the company does a lot to preserve as we grow—, etc.
Cons
Standards are high, and for someone this can be daunting. If you thrive on challenges, it is one of the best places you can find to grow, personally and professionally. I certainly am a much better individual since I joined the company. If you dislike a demanding environment—let alone if you like "coasting"—you won't enjoy your time here.

Pros
Ask anyone what's the best thing about Bending Spoons—everyone will give you the same answer: Spooners. Spooners are extremely talented and motivated, they are the best people you can meet in your life. Working with them gives you the chance to learn and improve everyday, no matter your level of expertise. It's also motivating: The healthy competition of being surrounded by capable and effective people pushes you to do your best. You are always able to trust your peers, and you will enjoy the result of their work, rather than being frustrated at their mistakes or inattention to details. Same applies to the management: I have great trust in everyone who's leading the company. I often trust others more than myself, which is not usually the case outside of here. Also, Spooners are nice people. You will likely find many friends in here. Besides, the company is awesome. You can still feel a startuppy attitude, despite the growing size. Things are handled with sharp logic and pragmatism. Finally, this is not just a regular "employee" job. If you join, you join a mission, you feel part of it, and you have a stake in the company too.
Cons
Impostor syndrome: you will likely feel it a lot, and this can be daunting sometimes.

Pros
- Because the recruiting process is so thorough, the team you end up working with is so special. Every day you are supported by your colleagues and challenged to do better and better. Not just as an employee but also as a person. - Benefits are great. - The Executive team is always open to suggestions: there are plenty of occasions for us to share feedback, ask questions and challenge the status quo, or even propose culture and policies improvements.
Cons
- Some positions have more opportunities for growth than others → for engineers there are definitely more chances to grow and move around the company/become lead, etc. - Everyone is very committed to making the company better and work as much as they can, which sometimes ends up with people working really crazy hours and/or a crazy amount of hours. The good thing is that the company really leaves it up to people to choose what they want to do: so if you wish to work during the weekend, you are free to do so! If you wish to stop working at 3pm and then log back in at night, you can go ahead and do it, as long as you get done what needs to be done.

Pros
- The culture is amazing, and the company actively strives to make it the best place to work and collaborate with many events, retreats, bonding trips, and more, all expense paid - The mindset is helping each other out and asking for help, both between teammates and with management. The career options you have are infinite, and you're listened to when wanting to progress in your growth or switch to a different area - The density of talent is through the roof: every single teammate is highly talented. The hard and long selection process pays off to make sure the candidates are going to become a real asset once in the company - It's perfectly normal to work remotely, with very very very flexible working hours, and at your own pace. You can take as many vacations as you want
Cons
You need to be prepared to give the best of yourself: the quality and growth here is pretty high, don't expect to get away with half-assing things.
1 - 5.0Jun 26, 2023Customer Support SpecialistCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearMilan
Pros
Bending Spoons may be best known for engineering or tech-related jobs, but my current job in the Customer Support field outperforms any previous experience I've had. The degree of responsibility, freedom in taking choices, involvement in projects really make it look like a different job than the one you would normally think of as Customer Support. It makes dealing with difficult customers worth it! Not to mention the countless perks that were already mentioned in other reviews—the ability to work fully remote, the incredible people you get to work with, the benefits offered to employees (among which psychological support for us and our families). I am forever grateful to the colleague who encouraged me to send my CV two years ago!
Cons
The environment is for sure demanding and being surrounded by incredible people can often trigger your imposter syndrome. But if you're ready to question yourself and take it as a chance to improve, there's nowhere better to do so!

Pros
Being Bending Spoons my first employment, I can say that I could have never dreamt of a better place to start my career. You get to work with extremely talented, motivated, and supportive people. Responsibility and ownership are given from almost day one despite the lack of experience and this gives you the opportunity to grow and learn a lot by doing and facing challenges, knowing that you'll always be supported by amazing teammates. The company's values, transparency, attention to the employees' well-being, and teamwork are other key factors that make Bending Spoons stand out.
Cons
I wouldn't consider it as a proper con, but the standards are high and you might feel a bit of self-pressure to keep a high level of performance and impact. Also, some periods might be more intense and demanding in terms of workload, but they're usually rewarded by the satisfaction and results you obtain through these challenges.
1 - 4.0Aug 10, 2023AI Research EngineerFormer EmployeeMilan
Pros
Great company culture, ambitious, young, good company leadership (the founders, not necessarily the team leads).
Cons
Depending on the team your experience may very wildly. Some leads are clearly not fit for the role and prompted many of their employees to leave (either the team or the company as a whole) Compensation tiers and the way they are assigned is not always the most transparent

Pros
Bending Spoons is like one of, or maybe THE best workplaces in Italy. It provides people with unprecedented opportunities to grow, learn and foster innovation. Here anyone can have a true impact, and can set the direction for their careers, finding opportunities that are aligned with their passions, so if you're in it for a good challenge, this is likely the place where you want to be.
Cons
You have to be ready to accept that we have uncompromising excellence standards. This is not a place for everyone: you are required to be outstanding. Keep in mind that this on the other hand allows you to be surrounded by the best people.
