I worked at Benefit Cosmetics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fun, upbeat atmosphere, always room for growth, amazing Benefit benefits along with the full,-time benefits that were offered by Ulta Beauty.

    Cons

Being both an employee of Benefit and ULTA definitely had its cons. To be managed by someone who is unlicensed was very frustrating and sometimes political (only at the retail store I was working for ) other than than. BENEFIT COSMETICS treated me well. And I have no particular cons to mention about them.

I have been working at Benefit Cosmetics full-time

    Pros

-Great people for the most part -Depending on your team, most people are polite and some managers are very understanding of work-life balance -Free makeup once in a while

    Cons

Benefit corporate does not look like the diversity they market. Most of the leadership is white, and a lot of management is white. It also says something that some of the least agreeable people to work with at this company are, you guessed it, white. The bad and aggressive attitudes of some of these managers/leadership, gives off a sense of entitlement and arrogance. It makes it difficult to be a POC with a voice in an environment where there are mostly Karens in places of power. Going to HR is pointless. They just pump out some generic answers and do nothing. Hope they all read this and do something given the current magnification of the inequalities between white people and POC in this world, and since Benefit tries so hard to market diversity even though they lack it greatly within.

I worked at Benefit Cosmetics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company to work for. Every company has issues but you are cared for when you work here. Yes they do quirky events and sometimes we wore funny things but that was what set us apart and our customers have fun. Don't work here if you take life super seriously. The pay was great, my account managers were always there for me.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth. Limited boutique locations and account manager positions are slim since no one leaves.

I worked at Benefit Cosmetics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Consistency in clientele This is an OKAY job for someone fresh out of school. As an experienced Esthetician of 8 years. Had been with the company for 3 years. Continually exceeded goals, and little to NO praise I was making pennies ($0.65) more than someone FRESH out of esthetics school. Really disgusting. For an Esthetician in my area with my experience I was making on average $4/hour less that what I should have been. No competition in pay, and when pay was discussed "my hands are tied" was the response that I got, or "I will work on molding you so we can move you up in the company" -- Never happened. If I could give this company "0" stars ... I would

    Cons

If you're looking to be stagnant in a job you can stop looking! From day one I was mislead with the intentions and integrity of the company as well as given misleading intentions with growth in the company. Benefit Cosmetics knowingly employs management who openly discuss their customers on PUBLIC forums. Benefit Cosmetics knowingly employs management that state on public forums "I hope she gets herpes for Christmas" referring to a customer of theirs. I decided to part ways with Benefit Cosmetics solely because of this reason. My personal views did not allow me to continue working for a company that knowingly employs someone with such diabolical behavior. Benefit had no response to me when I reach out to management about this matter. Shame. On. You.
