I worked at Bentley University part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Beautiful campus, intelligent students, and great colleagues to work with.

    Cons

Underpaid adjunct teaching staff with few benefits and little representation within Administration. Discouraged and beat down the unionization of part-time teaching staff and discarded those seen as trouble-makers who clamored for better pay and working conditions. Business as usual at a business school.

    Advice to Management

Yes, you're a business school with an eye to the bottom line, but considering the ever-increasing tuition for students and the state-of-the-art facilities available, have a heart for the Adjunct Lecturers who are in the trenches teaching the more difficult and time-consuming classes. There was a reason why the union tried and was almost successful in breaking down the barriers in place for Adjunct Lecturers. Getting rid of the "bad seeds" is only a temporary solution.
