I have been working at Berkowitz Pollack Brant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great professionals. Smart people and very flexible schedule wise. You'll actually be able to choose which group you want to be part of once you have gotten enough exposure

    Cons

Profession requires lots of billable hours in tax season but then summer is very chill. Not really a con but 20 words were required

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

    Pros

Great culture that focuses on the wellbeing of its employees.   As accountants, we’re used to deadlines and long hours during tax season, but the firm makes these periods more manageable and less stressful through flexible work schedules and prohibiting anyone from working 7 days in a row.  It also provides ample food, social events and time management tips to help make tax season go much smoother and faster.

    Cons

Deadline season can be demanding if one does not plan ahead.

I have been working at Berkowitz Pollack Brant full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The firm culture is amazing. Individuals are motivated to advance on their career and the firm has complex clients to provide this challenge to the team members. The firm has created a culture unlike any other.

    Cons

Certain managers are great at raising the issues, but are not open to suggestions or solutions offered. Ultimately issues may not be promptly or properly addressed.

    Advice to Management

As management has changed in the recent year, make the most effort to maintain the firm culture and continue the great work of our retiring partners and long-standing partners.

I have been working at Berkowitz Pollack Brant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In all my professional years, I can honestly say this has been the best firm I have ever worked at. BPB makes it a point to go the extra mile for their members and don't hesitate about it. They constantly strive to improve their benefits and make the workplace an idealistic culture. I am proud to be a member of the firm, and plan to build my career here.

    Cons

There's some employees who I like to call the 2% who are cancer to the firm, and hopefully those will be gone soon.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and continue striving to perfection!

I have been working at Berkowitz Pollack Brant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are supportive. Clients are interesting and at the top of their industries, most directors are very smart and highly regarded in their areas of specialty. Management cares about employees and is always trying new things to make our lives better - summer work schedule, lots of social events, flexible work schedules

    Cons

There are some dead weight employees but those are being weeded out. Days can be long in busy season.

    Pros

Work autonomy, diverse staff, Directors give you the time of day, the firm actually cares about your development. Great work environment

    Cons

Busy season - but any job in the tax industry has those 60+ hour weeks. Not very many cons, but this has to be 20 words

    Advice to Management

More consulting projects for newer staff

I worked at Berkowitz Pollack Brant full-time

    Pros

Pay is higher than larger firms. Excellent technical training. Involvement of all levels is highly promoted on projects and client relations. Great skills gained from my experience here.

    Cons

A lot of emphasis on budgets and billable hours. Huge push in the summer and winter just after peak season, making it difficult to catch up on life/CPA. Difficult to get work in from clients, so billable time is low and management doesn't feel the need to hire although new work keeps coming in and then employees are working up to 80-90 hours during peak depending on client/staffing. Mentoring and feedback is not frequent enough.
