I have been working at Berkshire Capital for less than a year

    Pros

Everything required of you as an IT guy is pretty simple. Snack room is nice.

    Cons

    Can get a bit boring.

I worked at Berkshire Capital full-time

    Pros

Perks are pretty good -- fancy holiday party and company outings

    Cons

Reduced dinner allowance last year from $35 to $25 (same as the bulge bracket banks). Some of the MD's are volatile and difficult to work for. First years are essentially run to the ground and constantly on call. Frankly, harsh culture from the top down. Turnover in the last 3 years has put a lot of pressure on associates - 15 people since summer 2015, none left from original 2013 or 2014 classes.

    Advice to Management

Retention is lacking because you don't generally treat your people like they matter.
