I have been working at Berkshire full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Berkshire values their team members and proves it everyday with consistent training, mentoring and support. Site teams are empowered to take care of their assets and residents. Everyone in the organization from corporate to site teams work together and always make themselves available to assist and help under any circumstances. Benefits are top notch and compensation is competitive.

    Cons

There are no cons. The employees make this company great.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow and provide opportunities.

I have been working at Berkshire full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Leadership listens.
You know you are valued and your opinions matter.
    Great benefit package.
    Matching 401K.
Vacation and holiday including a persobal holiday.
    Diverse team makeup.
Awesome and fair bonus - monthly, quarterly and annually.
Ongoing training and real time support.
    25% rent discount.

    Cons

Some communities do shared on call .... maybe that is actually a pro.
Seasonal slumps slow the otherwise generous bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Offer a more generous apt. discount for on site employee. Since the communities are in more affluent neighborhoods the cost of living onsite is an obstacle for select employees.

    Pros

    Amazing benefits, friendly work environment.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are limited (unless you want to transfer out of state with the company) based on the number of local communities they currently have in place

    Advice to Management

Acquire more local properties so employees have room for growth opportunities

    Pros

So far I'm loving working for this company! I feel extremely supported and invested in. You are more than just another number at Berkshire Communities. There are always people around to help when needed and everyone consistently works as a team. This is my first position in the industry and despite the fact I've only been doing this for about 4 months, I've already grown so much professionally!

    Cons

No issues so far with BC!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Berkshire full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a strong family feel at Berkshire no matter if your are on site, corporate, or national. Everyone makes you feel like you a truly a person, that you matter to the team, and that you are a unique individual whose uniqueness is appreciated. They are open to feedback, both good and bad, and will really listen to your ideas. Several items have been implemented in the almost 4 years that I have been here that I know were on site employee ideas...such as an extra week of vacation :)

    Cons

The company does not have large footprints in geographical areas so promotion opportunities can take time and a lot of people leave once they feel they are ready for other higher level positions simply because the opportunity doesn't present itself quick enough.

    Advice to Management

Since promotions aren't readily available, make sure that all levels are paid appropriately
