    Pros

I feel far more valued and considered as a site level employee than at any other PM company I’ve worked for. Rapid growth providing many opportunities for internal promotion

    Cons

It can sometimes be difficult to contact training teams- although ample structured reference materials are provided

    Needs improvement

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great experience for those looking for multi family entry level positions. Great teamwork!

    Cons

Lacked support from management, I was the only leasing in the office for months without help. Very bad communication with teams and lacked direction. If management is challenged with your new opinions, expect to not be able to grow in the company. Remember HR is there for the company, anything you say is being told to management. Management can be stuck in their ways.

    Berkshire Benefits & Culture

Jun 23, 2022 - Property Manager in Garland, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Berkshire is very big on maintaining the current culture of inclusiveness, transparency and helpfulness. If you need help with something, you're encouraged to reach out to anyone & everyone yourself, rather than having to wait for you manager to do it since it's outside the normal chain of command. Berkshire has done a great job with hiring top talent who are still humble and are very focused on support. The regionals managers & training/support team in DFW are all absolutely wonderful! The benefits are great with 3 weeks of vacation, 6 days of sick time and 12 paid days off during your first year and it continues to grow! We have 3 competitive health plans, a good 401k match with a lot of options, tuition reimbursement, monthly company-wide meetings to hear what's happening across the nation and more.

    Cons

We've grown so much in just the last couple years! This is wonderful, but we've had some growing pains (as normal) and still need more team members in the support/corporate roles.

Best company I have been employed with.

Jun 9, 2022 - Leasing Professional in Dallas, TX

    Pros

Major support. Pay is great. Benefits area major perk. The discount they give is calculated different than other companies-- which leaves you paying less than normal.

    Cons

None so far. I will update if I ever have any

    Pros

Great culture, benefits, and compensation. Leadership is ambitious and the firm continues to be a top performing asset manager (both debt and equity).

    Cons

No cons — great place to be long term.

    Berkshire Culture is Un-Matched

May 26, 2022 - Training Director in Dallas, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Excellent Work-Life Balance opportunities and benefits. Everyone cares for each other like we are part of a family, which our culture at Berkshire continues to manifest daily. Berkshire listens to their team members and makes changes to company holidays, policies and procedures based on real employee feedback.

    Cons

It's hard to talk cons when you truly feel appreciated every day!

    Berkshire "Walks the Walk"

May 26, 2022 - Full Time Corporate Employee in Boston, MA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Having had the displeasure of working for some of Berkshire's competitors, I can confidently say Berkshire doesn't just push out empty talking points and goals and expect employees to conform without management's support or guidance. Berkshire engages its employees, gives direction and helps employees plan on how to achieve individual and company goals, and cares about the communities where its people are based. Berkshire talks about cultivating it's culture, but not in a "creepy" or "culty" way (I have not seen any Kool-Aid in the break room:)). You are not expected to blindly conform to Berkshire culture, rather, your individual personality and perspective are seen as an addition to the culture that evolves as the company grows. It's a very positive place to work. I don't ever close out my day feeling like the concerns I may have are being ignored or my contribution isn't valued.

    Cons

No place is perfect, and refreshingly, Berkshire doesn't try to be. The company is growing quickly, and with that there are growing pains. Thankfully this fact is not being ignored by management. I am confident the company will use it's resources and engage employees on how to best address these growing pains.
